Has anyone here tried to make black garlic at home? I would but I don't think my girlfriend would tolerate the smell over several weeks let alone several hours in our apartment...

I did try it a couple of years ago and it didn't come out as I hoped. The neighborhood reaked for a couple of days though.

I’ve become lazy.
I buy the 1/2 gallon jar of peeled garlic at the wholesale produce store, divy it up into smaller Mylar bags and freeze it. That way, I always have whole cloves, ready to go. FWIW, I only get the USA or Mexico produced garlic, not China.
