My daughter recently told me I needed to trim my beard. My wife promptly told her that she does not have a vote. Anyway, I did trim it down to 1/4" again.

I shave once a week but that's only because I don't want to look old. I have very few white hairs, but the majority of reside on my face. I swear every time I look in the mirror, two more have sprouted up! I only shave once a week, because I'm lazy and hate shaving. Kind of a catch 22.

I shave once a week as well. I have to rock the goatee because the rest of my face becomes patchy and looks terrible. The majority of my gray hair is in the goatee and stache, but my wife has seen me once all clean-shaven, and she pretty much demanded I grow it back. And I absolutely hate shaving with a passion.

There is a catch about the dames asking us to keep the beard... I was surprised when an ex-gf asked me to grow the beard back after I shaved. I questioned her and she told me that because a bearded face gets a while to get used to, there were less chances of other girls to like me, so my flings probabilities diminished.
For good or bad, depending on the interpretation, a guy with a beard and a pipe transmits an air of good father and husband that is liked by girls who are looking for a good father and husband...
Thus, I am always appreciative of girls who hate my beard...

I for one am never going to have a beard. My dad can't grow one for crap, but he can grow a mustache.

Bums me a little that I won't be able to have that somewhat grizzly look (depending on how you groom yourself) and smoke a pipe.

Locopony has the "acquired" look to enjoy a pipe by. I'm similarly groomed. Now I'm planning the ponytail. Happy guys like us get noticed, but, never bothered; and that's a good thing.

I've had one since able to in my late teens. Occasionaly i will have a wet shave to see what it looks like but feel far too clean and corporate looking. Beardy for life methinks!!

i miss my beard...shaved it at the request of a lady friend i was escorting to a formal event...now i cant grow it back because my boss doesnt think the stubble phase is appropriate at work (which i understand...im a cashier and have to look at least somewhat put together)

I'm not hiding anything, I just grew the beard for the 7 months I was unemployed and don't want to bother with shaving ever again! Not to mention I have the "Airplane" Drinking problem, the beard absorbs the beverage before it can get on my shirt and tie.

I have been a street cop for the last 19 years. Cant have a beard in uniform. Last summer I took off a few months to recover from shoulder surgery. Grew my first full beard and loved it. Wife hated it. Towards the end I shaved it off slowly and into differant styles...all the way down to a Hitler stach. Lots of fun wearing that for about 18 hours.

I grow my facial hair for fun AND profit! Although, to date, I have made zero dollars on the sale of aforementioned facial hair...just need to find a way to market it properly...

I have always had one since early teens. I shaved it all off 10 years ago for my daughter to see me without one she cried.....

I knew I was ugly but my on daughter..... she said she didnt know me without it.

I usually go between a full beard(as seen in my avatar) in the winter, or a van dyke in the summer. However this year I decided to try something different, I decided to go with just the goatee.

This is the first time I have seen my upper lip in years...and the first time my fiance has ever seen it. I had a feeling that I was going to mis the mustache, but I didn't realize just how much until after my first bowl with a clean shaven lip. Now I don't get the aroma of the after smoke . But I told SWMBO that I would go with this for a while for her......rest assured it will eventually make a return though.

My sympathies for your grief brother. Get back with the full beard ASAP. Better looking and better for smoking. Women don't understand testosterone; nor should they. It's a mans world and we share it, however, there should be limits when it comes to manhood with regard to beards and pipes.

i usually wear a full beard, often with cheeks shaved though....not too long otherwise i look like a Viking (beard is yellow in places, dark in others, with reddish tinge)....i like having it and like many bearded folk i HATE shaving

I've had this beard for about 2 years now...

The pipe is a Peterson Army Mount shape 160... one of my favs for outdoor smoking.
