Feb. St Louis Who is going?

Next Saturday is the annual pipe show in St. Charles. My buddy and I will both be there and have tables as usual. I may even have a couple of my own making. It's always a good time. I was wondering who would be coming. If you'll be there give me a shout here. Also make sure and stop by the...

    Disaster on the Home Front!

Made a trip down to my parents home this weekend. My dad is up in age and having health problems so we went down to lend a hand. While gone Missouri had a couple of its coldest nights getting into single digits. We didn't think it was any big deal as we had our heater on. Little did we expect...

    Met Up With Forum Member!

On Tuesday I posted that I'd be in the Albuquerque area on Wednesday. I offered to meet up with forum members and smeig (Chad) took me up on the offer. He called yesterday and we made plans to meet at Stag Tobacconists in the evening. I found the shop and met up with Chad and his dad. I also...

    Share a smoke in Albuquerque?

I left the house in Missouri this morning for Albuquerque for work. I'll be in the area for a few days, arriving this evening. If anyone on the forum is in the area and wants to get together for dinner and a smoke while I'm there, send me a PM and I'll give you my phone number. I love meeting...

    Billiard Nosewarmer! Not For Sale!

First of all, this pipe is "Not For Sale"! I was working on trying to make a Devil Anse pipe but didn't look at a picture before I started and didn't even get close. It turned into a Billiard Nosewarmer. But still is a decent looking pipe. The briar however had a couple pretty bad flaws. One...

    New Gifted to me Pipe!

I just recieved this pipe yesterday and wanted to show it off. I also want to see if anyone can guess the maker. (No I didn't carve it! Although I'd be happy with it if I had!) So take a guess. It's a fairly larger pipe and has a swirl acrylic stem. The tobacco chamber is fairly large and deep...

    Freehand Canadian

There was a challenge a bit back to make a freehand type pipe with a canadian stem. I can't turn a big enough block on my lathe to make one, so went with an extension of zebra wood to make it up. I have a bit of fine tuning to do to the stem to thin the bit a little and open the airway still...

    Share a smoke! Birmingham Area.

I'm heading out tomorrow for the Birmingham/Cullman area for work tomorrow. Be there Tuesday to about Thursday. If any members live in the area and would like to get together one evening give me a shout by PM and we'll exchange phone numbers. It's always fun to meet up with new friends/pipe...

    Recent Ammo Tampers!

I recently had someone send me some large caliber cartridges that he wanted me to make into some tampers for him. I didn't like the way the tampers looked with the full length brass so I took a tubing cutter and cut the brass down and made these three tampers. I still need too epoxy the brass...

    Been MIA!

I've been real busy with "Get Ready For Spring!" stuff around the house. Haven't been in the shop much and haven't even been smoking much for the last few weeks. Plus, I think I just needed a break from the net in general. But I'm back and I'm going to get back in the shop to make more pipes...

    Parkersburg/Charleston West Virginia?

Any members live in the area? I'm flying into Charleston WV tomorrow afternoon for work. I'll be in the area of Parkersburg for about 6 days. I'll have some evening time to meet up with fellow smokers to share a bowl. Just PM me and I'll give you my phone number. I love making a work trip into...

    Pipe Stand for Pictures!

I've taken lots of pictures of pipes, both new and estates. I've also had the same problems as many other people that photograph their pipes. It seems lighting is a big problem, but an even bigger problem, getting the pipe to set just right so you can get the angle you want without leaning the...

    Latest Work in Progress!

Here is the latest one I've been working on. Thought I'd post what I have after a couple times in the shop to work on it. I call it a Rhode-Paul.

    "Drunken Poker 2.0"

I've been working on this one for a bit. Then broke my leg and couldn't get to the shop. Then once I was able to hobble round just a bit, I had too get ready for the pipe show. Today I finally got a bit of time and finished it up. I cut the bottom to make it a Cherrywood shape and it sets...

    Pics St Louis 2012!

The show was great for me as usual. With my broken leg and crutches, I spent most my time setting at my table. I only got up and made one round amoungst all the other sellers and didn't take the camera with me. But I did take 4 pictures from my seat at my table and am posting them here. Anyone...

Drunken Poker Finished! (Not For Sale)

This is a pipe I started as a commission. When I had it about done, I ran into a large flaw and so the shape went in a different direction. It became what you see now. When I got it to this point, I found a crack running all the way across the bottom. I tend to finish pipes I start as they are...

    Avatar? I give up!

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or not. I had one avatar on my profile for a while and it never showed. So, I added a different one just now and I still can't get it to show in my posts. When I go to my profile, it does show there, as it did before. Any ideas? I really want to get it...

    Crash and Burn!

Well, not actually! With the unusually warm weather we have been having, I've been riding my Yamaha Majesty (400cc) scooter a bit. Had it out on Monday, as it was in the 60's, and went over to a buddies. It's about a 40 mile ride. I was getting close and made a turn off a state highway onto a...

    Drunken Poker Part-2!

I posted about my last pipe I was working on. I called it the "Drunken Poker" It was a pipe I was making for someone and it looked great, but had a couple bad flaws so will end up being a shop pipe. The person I was making that one for liked the shape, so I have started "Drunken Poker" Part-2...

    Pipe Shop Time Today!

I've been trying to get a little time in the shop lately and always come up with a reason I can't. Well today a buddy and fellow pipe maker came over and we played. He drilled a few blocks, which he can finish at home. While he did that, I worked on a stem I've been making for one pipe and...
