I've Nimrods around and find them thoroughly utile and indeed, they are great in the wind when properly used. Well, a lot of lighters are great in the wind if properly shielded. Just take a bit of thought. Same with a paper match or a glowing ember from a campfire. Just gotta think it through the first few times.

I use the pipe inserts they work very well.
For cigars I use the zippo double torch.
But after reading Warrens commit about the regular chimney insert I have been giving it a try.
Does seem to work well inside and outside.
I have a soft/torch insert for a Zippo. When you light it its a torch then when you let go of the button its soft. Closing the Zippo lid cuts off the butane and kills the flame. Great for me as I also smoke cigars.
