Summer Breeze:

See the curtains hangin' in the window
In the evening on a Friday night
A little light-a-shinin' through the window
Lets me know everything's all right

Summer breeze makes me feel fine
Blowin' through the jasmine in my mind
Summer breeze makes me feel fine
Blowin' though the jasmine in my mind.
What were you smoking? jpmcwjr. For God's sake. What the demons, were you smoking?7OA7.gif

For me, from Back in the Day it is "Summer in the City" by the Lovin' Spoonful, 1966

Oh, yeah, that was a great Summer song. Had a Summer job in Chicago, a little apartment and a very loving and lovable GF. It was my first city apt. and it did get hot in many ways. It was almost painful to think how good it all was, and so long ago.

Then there's the Porgy and Bess version of Summertime.

Many years ago, when I was a young man - or, for you older members, "like, ten to five years ago" - A week or two every summer would be spent at a smaller house on the far-side of the Chesapeake with a school friend whose family owned the place. We carpooled there, of course.

At some point in the drive, he'd invariably put on a greatest hits cd that he'd purchased during his time studying abroad in Osaka - Kinniku Shoujotai's "Golden Best".
