Strikes aplenty! Few with matches, many with fish, I hope. Nice comp.
Skywalk: I read a lot of classics at a way too early age. I might be able to understand more with a long life under my belt!

That is the first pipe tobacco I have tried SGP. You don't need to hunt squirrels, just keep smoking it and they will come to the smell :)

Lawdawg, what Southern Indiana creek?
I spend some of Sunday night beside Blue river in Milltown.
Indian Creek... which is a tributary of Blue River, I believe. The area is gorgeous!
Cobguy, if you see this, is that an Old Dominion cob? How do you like it? I really like their looks!

Yes sir ... I want to say it was the "Virginia Planter" which was the largest one.
It's been a great smoker and the folks running that operation are very nice people.

After all these years I finally bought my first cob. My "significant other" was so excited about it, that some more are sure to follow.

Thanks cobguy. I will order a Virginia Planter or two when they are back in stock. I see that for their Virginia Planters, they are now using a strain of corn designed for making cobs... presumably the Missouri Meerschaum strain. I imagine this will take care of the problems I've read about their cobs burning out real fast. I'm glad to hear it, because I love the concept! Just a carved out cob with a river reed stem wedged in. No glue, no plastic.

When my wife and I are not working we are outside enjoying nature. I talked her into taking a couple of picks.

Tried to get your embedded IMG tag to show, but the Imgur URL needs to end in .jpg, and you don't also put in the address of this thread.
Once your photos are on a photo hosting site (such as Imgur.com; Photobucket; Dropbox, etc.), select the full image, then Control-click (Mac) or Right-click (Windows) and choose copy image location. Now paste that URL (the full web address) into the box that pops up under IMG in the compose reply window of the thread in which you want the photo to show.

This for the comparative smoke-off, but I like it, so here it is. Shinier pipe started as a natural wood pipe 50 years ago. A pro buffing at my B+M brought it to look almost like lacquer.
