Not so many pipe purchases this past year, but I'm really chuffed with my two Will Purdy ones :
The main event this year for me would have to be this Yanik Celtic Knot master carving. And the icing on the cake is it smokes great too.
It has also made me rediscover enjoying sitters. Lately I've been smoking it once a day in the evenings and the tactile experience of holding this thing adds a dimension to the overall experience that I'd not considered in a long time because I'm usually clenching when I smoke during the day.

That just depends on how you look at it. To cellar is to put back for future use, to hoard is to gather just for the sake of it. At my current rate of consumption, I've got thirty to forty years worth of tobacco put back which roughly aligns with my familial expiration date without having to pay rising taxes for tobacco now and in the future. I may or may not live that long but I started putting back tobacco to have nicotine for a time when I could no longer justify the cost. Tins finally went above what I'll pay this year.Sort of like all of us hoarding 6 lifetimes worth of tobacco?
A four C Cavicchi and this Baglan wine barrel meer were my favorites for the year.
I guess I’m just a factory pipe kind of guy but my family allowed me to pick my pipe for Christmas and I chose this Rattrays . Beautiful grain, near perfect drill and just overall good quality. Ordered another one upon reception of this. It’s so dark at the bottom of this PAD rabbit hole!
Can't do pics but I'll admit I did buy 1 pipe way back at the start of this year, a rusticated Peterson Rathbone as I wanted to add another deeper bowled pipe to my collection.
A Bruno Nuttens last April - my second from him - a beautiful pipe and a great smoker.
How do you like your Nuttens pipes? Are the stems comfortable? I have a couple on the way from lepipe.
I love both of them. I love the twiggy style and I find the 4mm smokes really well. I'm not a clencher, so I can't say more on how comfortable the stems are, Here's a pic of the other.
That's why I find it's best to not let my cellaring personality know what my hoarding personality is doing...and vice versa.
