I guess it would be this one, since it's the ONLY pipe I bought this year.

Altinay lattice billiard meerschaum and it ain’t even close.

Xmas gift from my wife from Xmas of 2021 but it didn’t arrive until Jan 2022 so I’m counting it as a this year pipe. So far she’s gotten me my first pipe, my favorite pipe (this altinay), and my beautiful hanging pipe shelf. I’m a happy man.

Picked up an unsmoked 1998 Dunhill Amber Root 5104 Bulldog. Love the Cumberland stems on these older Amber Roots! Is it just me, or does this finish seem more orange/brighter than the newer ones?

It's been a year unlike any other in this department--all 11 of my current pipes were obtained this year, either purchased or gifted to me. So suffice to say, the choice is tough, but I'd have to give the edge to my Savinelli Bacco 321 bent author. Loved this one from the moment I saw it, and the rustication is just beautiful. All my latakia blends go in here.

This is the easiest question I’ve ever been asked.

Unfortunately it’s Sophie’s Choice.

This has been the single greatest year of collecting. I’ve been unbelievably fortunate.

But here are my top two.

1923 Peterson Magnum and an 1892 Peterson Patent

Now if the question is my two greatest saves, huge shoutout to Ryan Alden. Those are 1911 Peterson Patent Calabash and a 1914 Peterson. Both required extensive skill and technical knowledge to save.

My goodness that 1914 Peterson billiard is marvelous. Love that it has a case too.

I scored this Reuben-era Charatan on eBay earlier this year with the help of a forum member who graciously received it from the UK-based seller and shipped it on to me in the States.

It was listed incorrectly as a Chataran and there was only one photo, so I was the only (lucky) bidder. I have yet to see it in person, as it sits at my sister’s house, awaiting my next trip back to the US.
