Most unusual is probably the Nording Duck. I have a couple Preben Holm Hallmarks that would also fall in the category of weird wood, see the pipe at 5 o'clock in the avatar.

Wish I had a better camera too, Spartan. I see these Bartlett pipes on eBay from time to time. The idea behind it was to light it from the bottom, so that you wouldnt have to suck the smoke through the burnt ash. Of course, you suck the air through the burnt ash on top of a screen, so I have to say that it smokes the same as anything else. Tough part is getting the flame into the bore hole without burning up the bottom, since you cannot see it. It is a drier smoke than an average pipe, since there is no place to collect moisture.

Never wear white while smoking one!

Still have not finished the chamber. I also have a Blue Pipe and it

will remain as a display item along with the Algerian alligator grain
