From what I've gathered over the years, an average chamber depth of many smokers is around 1.5 inches. A cigar's flavor tends to change around the half way point. What on earth are smokers doing with a pipe to change its flavor at a difference of .5 inches?

Yup 100%. I normally am a top half of the bowl guy. But I, have been digging into a can of 40th now for a couple of weeks. For that tobacco, it gets better as it goes. It's definitely a second half of the bowl tobacco.

Some Virginias really stove well in a tall stacked dublin, not all, but some. But, with those few that stove well, I enjoy the bottom third. Some latakias I prefer the middle third. Some the top, and some aromatics, I enjoy just tossing in the garbage. YMMV

1. The ritual light up and the first taste of that delicious tobacco ( and hopefully the chance to finally sit down and relax) ?

2. The 2/3 when your in the groove and everything is going smooth. Your set to cruise control and enjoying the ride?

3. The final stretch when your blissfully enjoying all the different transitions the smoke has gone through and your getting every lost drop of goodness?

Most times I'm enjoying 2nd stage best.
But I try to give them all a little love, I've got enough to go around.
