Me too! I ended up with 2 of those Cap'n Petes and my desire slowly fizzled for them. I've even sold one of them off since that time. I definitely have a few new favorites. Still Petersons though! I've decided that's all I'll buy. It limits my erraticism and puts a slight restriction on the spending.
Generally, I'm moving upward from the Standard line to Deluxe & Supreme.
Oh, and I've acquired a few Mark Twains, they perform well for me.
It definitely is. I still like my Kaywoodies, but my how my collection has grown in the past couple of years. My leanings towards 75+ year old pipes has been augmented by a few new pipes, but is still strong.
Due to the environment I smoke in most often (working, from money job or personal), my most often smoked and “favorite” are different things.
My favorite, currently happens to be amazing in all categories, but it’s more of a special smoak pipe.

My most reliable pipe, one I don't have to fuss with or worry to much about if it get lost or breaks, would have to be a MM Diplomat corncob. My favorite pipe is a shop brand bent acorn from the Gatlinburlier that I've had for about 30 years. ** This is a great thread and, if possible and allowable, it would be great to keep active. Many people keep adding to their stable of pipes and it's interesting to see what other are smoking.
I have about 20 pipes. I smoked my Morretti's the most. Then my go to are my Hiesenburg pipes by Jim Brown.

Been at this a year, and I'm trying to slow/stop the collecting at about two dozen ( ). My favorites fall into a couple categories. My go-to faves tend to be smaller pipes because I smoke outdoors only can't easily fit long sessions into my schedule, so: a Brulor Junior Rhodesian and a Wilke billiard from the late Vernon Vg's (RIP) collection, that I like because they're small, portable, smoke well, and hold community connections; and a LJ Peretti Virgin Deluxe and a Ropp J16 that perform similarly with no legacy connections. My most prized pipes are a Clarke's Favorite and a Pete System Spigot 314 that smoke English blends just right.
Oh, and I just got a 302 System Standard that, at first, didn't look or feel special. But I'm appreciating the value of a pipe in the middle that's not a beater, but not a treasure, that I can just smoke and enjoy.

When I read the title of the thread, I was prepared to talk about my Castellos.
But the never let me down, reach for it most often pipe is without a doubt my Savinelli Series III.

Hmm, not sure why I never commented in this thread. My favorite is a Sasieni Four Dot Ashford. I bought it un-smoked, probably paid too much. I said I would smoke it on a special occasion and it sat for several years. When my granddaughter was born in 2016, I smoked it out on their patio. At the time, we lived 1,000 miles apart. Now, I live 10 minutes from her and see her and her brother a few times weekly. When we lived apart, I only smoked it on her birthday, it made me miss her too much. Now, it's in regular rotation.
