Your Favorite Bulldog?

The Bulldog is my favorite shape. I've got about ten different Peterson 150's and a handfull of 80s's, a Boswell, a Burkes, a couple Savinelli's, a GBD, a IMP meershaum and even a MM corn dog.

Overall, I'd probably say the Peterson 150 straight bulldog is my favorite shape. (Or anything with similar traditional dimensions.)

Hard to choose just one, but I’d have to say this Castello 56. Smokes like a dream.

The Dr. Grabow Royalton bulldog attains the full bulldog shape without the bead lines. I like the bead lines on my other dogs, but appreciate the Dr. Grabow nuance. I've seen a GBD bulldog with a heavy blast and no bead line, but it may not be as fully realized version of the shape, but nice, tempting. The bulldog is not one of my top three favorite shapes, but one I like very much.

Aside from an English bulldog, which I won't get until retirement, I love a good GBD, a Tinsky or oddly enough, my Savinelli Punto Oro bulldog.

My Savinelli Punto Oro bulldog is a great one. I think overall though I prefer my Pete bulldogs. Here's my Pete's and my Savinelli Punto Oro, my absolute favorite is probably the London Made army mount at the top left below the Savinelli. Been enjoying the 2021 Christmas Baker Street Pete's I got!

The Pete Sherlock Holmes Squire, even though I'm a billiard guy. The size, weight, and shape are perfect for me. They run a bit larger than the other Pete dogs, like the 80s.

Yes, indeed. Have that 1 and it is my favorite bulldog. It has a pretty large and deep bowl for a bulldog which I especially like.

For me this is perfection, i don’t want a lot of bells and whistles. Then again when weighing the price of one commissioned pipe vs how much tobacco one can get with the same money i run away with my tail between my legs and hit that order button for tobacco

Out of curiosity and given i am eyeing to get a bulldog in the nearish future, can they be reasonably big and with deep chambers, or is the shape and leverage on the jaw while clenching preclude that? I always thought that big pipes sort of need to be bent not to become unclenchable.

In my experience, bulldogs come in all sizes and chamber dimensions. Just pay attention to legnth and chamber dimensions. This classic Dunny bulldog, that I’m about to fire up is rather small and I clench with no problems.

The best of my few bulldogs, because it is small, feels nice, with perfect stem bite and looks are muscular, although it is light. It is an old BBB 400 London made Silver Grain, which I bought used, then thoroughly cleaned and restored, since it is in very good condition. It is however still slightly ghosted, also after countless bowls, which I try to ignore because it simply feels so good smoking it.
