You Folks Smoking 6+ Bowls a Day

It is so dependent on my activities.
If I'm in my office writing reports I'll smoke a pipe then rest it (my pipes are an arms reach away) if I'm just in my truck driving I have three pipes that kinda sorta get rotated. If I'm going to be away for a few days I take six pipes (because that's what the case holds) and clean them in my hotel room.
Yesterday I drove just shy of 600 miles. I smoked the same pipe all day. I just run a cleaner through after a smoke and back at it I go. Oh and yesterdays pipe was my Falcob.

This is very true. The pipes must be smoked to keep them in shape.

I typically will smoke each pipe only once before putting it up for cleaning, due to about 40 in rotation. Sometimes I do refill the pipe and smoke it again after some rest. My Falcons can see repeated use though, that is the beauty in them. These days, I might smoke two pipes a day.

Usually I don't smoke the same pipe twice,but instead prefer switching to another,If I'm out travelling or driving at work I may take one or two pipes along, doing 3-5 bowls per day+ at least,an occasional cigar,cigarette or chewing tobacco in addition.

I always rotate my pipes and very rarely smoke the same pipe more than once in a day, unless its a cob. Even with cobs, I rotate them. Even when I go on a one-day canoe trip, I've usually got three cobs with me, along with a pouch stuffed full of codger burley.

Years ago when I started, I bought a Tinsky Bulldog. It was my first real pipe. I smoked that thing ten times a day for two weeks, wore the bit to hell and damn near burned it out--a giant dark spot appeared on the heel. I've learned that cheap pipes will even out a rotation.

Burnouts don't happen because a pipe is smoked multo times in a row; they happen when abused, misused, high winds, inattention, or defective material. That can happen with one bowl, or the 20th in a row.

2 to 3 bowls on the weekdays. Maybe one on the weekends. I do rotate pipes between each bowl.

I smoke 10 or more bowls a day mostly in a cob or 2 beater briars off of ebay my nice radice briar only a bowl every couple days through it so far

6 bowls a day with different pipes. I keep a rotation of 18 pipes so I can wait for each pipe to dry before being smoked again. I have tried to smoke more than one bowl in a pipe on the same day but always found the second bowl to be too moist to my liking. So for me the system is working best at the moment.

Usually two bowls a day, one in the morning, one in the late afternoon. I have four meers that I rotate for morning smoking, all about the same size; and six meers of different sizes that I rotate in the afternoon. This has been the protocol for years.

I probably average 4-5 a day across the entire week. If it's a day I brought my cobs then I can smoke multiple blends in the same pipe no problem. If I just brought a couple of briars then I have to limit my blends to ones that don't conflict to the prior blends. Finding myself more and more reaching for my cobs, surprisingly enough.

I used to smoke 7-8 a day. Each smoke was a different pipe, unless traveling. I dried them out a week or two for best results.

I usually rest the briars between smokes and alternate with a meer and 2 cobs to stretch my small collection. Works fine for 10+ bowls/day.

My dad was a real old timer and only smoked one pipe, and only one tobacco, Granger, all day from after breakfast to bedtime, with time out for meals. No pipe rotation ever at all. When a pipe finally split its bowl or burnt out at the base, he'd buy a new one at a newsstand in downtown Chicago, when that was a common source for new pipes. Needless to say, he didn't leave behind any legacy pipes, and quit smoking cold turkey at 65 to start a second career at a smoke-free campus work place.
