I’m 99.9% sure I’ve seen/heard of Swedish Match. Interesting how matches from Sweden would be so inexpensive considering how expensive Scandinavia is.

Here’s their website;

I uses matches for other purposes, I’ll have to try these next time.

P.S. It’s nice to know, these matches are also approved by the Swedish Chef! :)

Well, ok! A spammer has resurrected a dead thread.

BB- Did you ever solve your match problem? And yes, to your question some time ago: The kind good restaurants, hotels and casinos give out- or at least used to. When in a big city, or Vegas, I just ask for matches every time I visit the place- each place. So I came away with a couple dozen boxes.

But now I've just been flicking my BiC.....

No need to get haughty about horti...

...that was just irresistible.
😂 Naa, more down to earth... Professional horticulturalist for my sins. Yeah, and dead thread? Was actually looking for wooden spills for someone else and came across this site. Did an oops (moderator) and put up a link to where these can be sourced online. Did notice that Catholic Church suppliers also stock, but at many times the price of elsewhere... Oh, and in case anyone's interested, they're far better at lighting a wood stove than those rip-off long-necked gas lighters. So, ifs ya want a fume free, first drag on that tobacco - get some wooden spills! Long, thin pieces of wood for thems not in the know - it's what they used back in the clay pipe days before matches were invented and 'phossie girls' had the pleasure of making them.

We- or rather I- am gunshy when a new poster puts in a link to anything.
If you'd like to stick around, please introduce yourself in the thread for that.

We can always use more Scots here.
Haha, if I'd replied in broad Scots (was a tad tempted, seeing as it is Hogmanay), you would all be scratchin' yer heids! No worries about the delete - totally get it.

Although not as "pipe-y" as a wooden match, I've been satisfied with a BiC lighter, used with great care to protect the rim.
