I hear you, this Charatan is a group 4. That is my normal size for FVF. I have been tempted to try a Willmer with FVF but it would be a 3 hour smoke and as much as I love FVF, 3 hours is too much time for any blend.
I used to own a few Virprati's. Back in the day 4Q's were selling for only a couple of hundred bucks. The Euro had just started and it was like .83 to a US dollar. I always said that for the money you got a lot of grain with a Viprati.

Alright! Got that figured out!

Anyways, that's my Viprati pic before I bought it, cigrmaster. I have no idea how old it is but my guess is it from Luigi's early work circa 70's.

There are no clovers on it and may have been before he started using clovers? I dunno. The rim was stained but cleaned up perfectly.

But I'll tell you, it smokes FVF like a dream. If anybody knows anything about the pipe like age or what series it is from, I'd love to hear from you.

One more pic of the Viprati for possible ID purposes. The rim cleaned up perfectly and no char. This pipe was not smoked much and cleaned up like new.

pipesticks, great looking Viprati in my favorite shape. I see why it smokes FVF so well. I have 3 Dublins and a couple of Apples I smoke my FVF in.
