I have a very meager "Cellar." Never really cellared a lot, mostly ended up with aged blends accidentally because I got distracted with other blends or forgot about a couple in my closet. So, no, I won't stop buying tobacco anytime soon. I'd love to stockpile my favorite blends by year's end in case they become unavailable, but that likely won't happen on any large scale. I applaud those of you who have managed to hoard store a lifetime supply.

I have a list of a few things I'd like to add. Every once in awhile I'll knock something off that list. What I've found is that I eventually find something else to replace it.
Long story short, I should. I'm pretty well stocked. Frankly I don't care much about aging, and do think most blends have a bit of a "best by" date. Luckily I prefer VAs which supposedly have a pretty long window for that date to reach, and I probably have enough to get there.
So yes, should, but that doesn't mean my list doesn't still have 8lbs worth of tobacco on it. We'll see. I also still have six open slots on my racks...

"but there will always be new and exciting blends that I want to try "
Yeah...except...not.
I'm the same. I keep saying "This is it", then something new comes along. Well, that game is over. No new blends after August of this year. Yes, there is still stuff in the pipeline, blends that had a very limited and very quiet release just prior to 8-8-16, that will go into production and show up as a "new" blend, but that will end on 8-8-18, unless Congress sees fit to intervene and amend the FDA deeming regs.
So, I've stockpiled what I like now, and what I think will age into something that I'll like in the coming years. If nothing else, I have trade fodder for blends I will discover later on, but didn't cellar! My real interest is beginning to morph into working with whole leaf. That's where all this will be headed soon. I have to room to plant far more tobacco than I could reasonably tend, cure and process. No limits, dood.

With regard to new blends, I have yet to be impressed by the flavors of the week being released lately. I haven't tried the new War Horses or the other blends from that group, but generally speaking, I got burned enough on new blends with what I consider poor blending or components that I stopped trying them or caring about them.
Many, many others disagree with me, but even when Sam Gawith releases a new blend I just don't care. Cabbie's Mix, to me, is the same as a number of other blends that have been around a long time that also don't thrill me. But if my tastes change, those other blends will still be around.

Started off buying lots of single tins to help me decide what I liked.

Now I buy mostly orientals, plugs and ropes.

I only buy from my local shop, so usually pick something up if I am in town.

I only have about a dozen tins in store, plus a couple open at any one time.

Tales of hundreds of pounds in cellars amaze me.

I don't have a huge trove, and I try to keep purchases down to replacement of what I use. I'm a moderate smoker. But given the accumulation I have, it would look excessive to anyone not smoking pipes. I probably have about fifty blends, maybe a few more, but most are in small quantities, and more than half is in unopened tins. Jars have blends and samples. After buying a pound of an aromatic that I later gave away, I don't buy pounds or half pounds. For a treat, I'll buy one tin of something I haven't tried that sounds really good, and maybe a two-ounce bag of bulk. As for the coming tobacco drought, I expect some satisfactory blends will remain available, and I feel I can mix some original "blends" to keep it interesting, with blending tobacco added to existing blends. Extra large quantities seem burdensome to me -- but that's just me.

Sunny Cornwall, UK.
Ever since I heard rumours that internet tobacco purchases are to be banned here in the UK I have been very active in getting a stash of my favourite blends together for that time should it come.
Not in the American sense of several pounds (baccy is so expensive here) but every month or so I will order perhaps eight or ten tins/pouches for putting away on top of my immediate requirements.
Also, with the chance that my favourite blend (Condor) may not be produced after next year I am avidly gathering as much of that as I can.
Regards,
Jay.

Pretty much done here ... only adding occasional Unicorns to the Ark now. :)
Next year will be my second time around growing and should go more smoothly ... endless supply.

I'm not done, just being more selective. In the beginning it as a shotgun approach. Now it's pretty much ropes, plugs, a few flakes...(and meerschaums)...

Exactly what I did, then narrowed it down somewhat, and now narrowed it down even more. I have lots of blends that I rarely smoke now but they will probably last years and years. Blends I now prefer, not so much
