RBF:
Here's a link to an article from the Mayo Clinic which answers your question.
I hope that you find this information to be helpful.
I had high blood sugar for years, not diabetes, high blood sugar, but pretty high blood sugar and other than that being a fat pig I was one reason I went on keto. I dropped my blood sugar way way way way way way down and haven’t had a problem with it since not saying you should go on keto so that you can smoke cigars and Pipes to make up for it but there’s always options out there man. Good luck! Thanks for the link.
That article says nicotine raises blood sugar. I have done some reading on the matter, and I often see both takes. Some say it drops blood sugar, some say it raises.
Later today I'm going to get more test strips and do some experimenting.

I have diabeetus. A doctor put me on Glipizide, Metformin, and Jardiance.
I was/am peeing 50 times a night.
How does nicotine affect blood sugar?
Yeah I know... Talk to your doctor.
Not looking for exact medical advice, just looking to have a conversation with smokers.

The Standard American Diet is SAD indeed.which is the norm with the American diet...
I've never been a real overeater. Always just one large meal per day, dinner.
I'd be interested in any information you find out about nicotine and blood sugar as well .I have diabeetus. A doctor put me on Glipizide, Metformin, and Jardiance.

She needs to take Metformin WITH food (even a little bit) otherwise it can cause stomach cramps. In fact they tell you not to take it unless you've eaten something 30 minutes beforehand. Don't be on the Ozempic too long ... it causes muscle loss and bone density loss. I was on it for three months and lost 45 pounds which was great to jump start weight loss but I stopped on my own when I saw the side effects and switched to diet and exercise. Even 15 minutes walking twice a week can have a tremendous effect ... she doesn't need to train for the olympics ! or simple bike riding around the block. Best of luck to her and you.Shes now taking Ozempic in addition to Metformin which seems to make her sick.
If Brian is right about the diet Cokes that could be the whole cause.
There are a variety of ill effects it can have...and like almost everything else it's not going to be the same for everyone. And like almost everything else it depends on how much you're ingesting. If you're drinking a lot of it, I'd definitely cut that shit out...but that's just me.
My diet is far from perfect, but there are certain things I won't go anywhere near...and Aspartame is high on that list...nasty shit IMO, and should have never been "approved"...like many other chemicals.
Whether it has anything to do with your issue, no way of knowing...but if I was you I'd cut it out altogether and see if you notice any difference after a while.
I'll let this one slide, even though we both know that you know better than to serve up a straight line like that to this crew.having a BS reading of over 500
