That shallow depth of field really makes the subject jump out you. Nicely captured.
That’s all I had going for me on this shoot today! Lighting wasn’t great and the birds were backlit almost every time I got them in frame.
Still, I was pretty excited to find him, let alone get some shots. I took the crop body thinking he would be flighty and I’d need to keep some distance. Lesson learned.
That's the eye! Well done! That gnarly tree adds greatly to the photo. The bird is sharp, the bird's environment is there and the short focus makes that wee bird just pop! I'd be proud to have captured that. Kudos!
A couple weeks ago, tropical storm Hilary caught this baby quail off guard. Took her indoors to dry off, and within a half hour or so, following a brief snack, she was emphatically ready to rejoin her family.

This guy was amazing (birds even more so) at Dunrobin Castle a few years ago. Bonus - the only know photograph in Scotland, maybe the world, of a cougar and great horned owl!
This bird got smashed with a 5lb sledge hammer last Thursday. Now people can see it really good when I let it fly!
