Thank you. Was doing a repair at work and was limited on tools and working with the wrong sized socket for the job (the only size the mechanics could find and it fit loose). Had a new guy rambling over my shoulder all hyper and annoying me; I lost my mindfulness and got distracted while hammering on the handle of a breaker bar to tighten the bolt. The socket slipped off the bolt and down came the hammer onto my finger, it hurt for 7 sec. and throbbed for the rest of the day. Day 3 and love to feel how fast my body heals. A long spiel, I know...

I'm not that good at taking pictures but I've always liked this one, I was ice fishing and a Whiskey Jack landed on my home made jaw jacker setup, I'm surprised he didn't trigger it and get launched into the air.

Anyone who doesn't understand the setup it's a wire rod holder and a string and a piece of wire coat hanger that I bend in a certain way and when a fish takes the bait and pulls on the line the tension releases and sets the hook. It looks kind of brutal but its actually the most humane way to do it because the fish can't swallow the hook too deep it always sets in the corner of the mouth so the fish don't get gut or gill hooked so if I want to release them they are virtually unharmed.

My favorite animal, the elusive Canadian Lynx. These guys live near one of my favorite trout creeks, I spent the summer getting to know them from a distance, they are very smart and shy animals and generally don't show themselves to you unless they feel comfortable with you. This day they came right out and I even had the female come up and almost sniff my hand, she backed off about 5 or 6 feet away from me. The male stayed about 10 feet behind her and stood guard, he probably would have attacked me if he thought I was getting aggressive towards the female, I'm not sure if they are a pair or siblings although I think they are siblings, they're both pretty young.

I don't recommend people get this close to wild predators but I've been in the bush since I was a small child and I'm familiar with most animals behavior patterns and find them to be predictable. The only animals I really fear is moose and geese, they're unpredictable. I've been close to black bears and wolves many times feed wild foxes out of my hand. There's nothing I would rather do with my life then be out in the bush with nothing to defend myself except a pocket knife.

These are still beautiful.

We've had a pair of doves (maybe the same ones every year, no idea) for a long time and this year they provided a baby - young dove hanging out on the deck after doing some short flying about the backyard last week. DSC_0715.jpeg
