I would be interested in the 1900-1918 time period.
It seems to me this te period had very beautiful designs and silverbands and army mount were very common.
I saw a post ww1 Vauen catalogue, but xouldnt find anything earlier...
Ok that’s actually very useful information because I see army mount Vauens extremely rarely

Oh I ment for this time period in general. Not sure if this mounts were made by Vauen.

I rechecked the displayed catalogue of Vauen and it might actually be from pre ww1.
It doesnt mentions the white dot at all, which was introduced in 1911...

Ok I have checked the catalog you linked plus some German pipe books I have at hand. IMG_2467.jpeg
For now I can tell you that you should be looking for the white Vauen stamp on the vulcanite stem - this is definitely a mark of this early period. In addition to that, horn stems and slim silver rings were also indicative of that era and also similar stamps to these ones but without the abreviations if are looking for pre war pipesIMG_2470.pngIMG_2469.png

Sorry, but thats one of the dumbest comments I have read.
How is that related to pipe collecting, espacially German Empire and WW1 era pipes?
Which the term "Pre WW2" encompasses.
But even if it would be about estate pipes from 1933-1945, this is a pipe forum, and there is nothing wrong about discussing estate pipes.
Congratulations. You are now the diviner of all things stupid. You do seem to have a special gift for it.

(FWIW, your title said Pre-WWII. WWII arguably began in September 1939. The Nazi confiscations began in 1933.)

I think the guy just meant that your comment was not relevant to this thread. Although he admittedly put a bit too much grit in the way he conveyed that. 😂

I can't speak to Germany, but everyone I've ever met stateside who collected Nazi memorabilia was batshit crazy.
Lemmy from Motorhead collected such things and yeah he's great but also was weird as heck.
I remember that movie. I also remember feeling like it was vastly different then I expected it too be. Also felt like a lot of it's commentary went over a lot of the viewing publics heads.
