Never said it wasn’t fast foodWe had a Culvers fast Food place open up close to us here. It was ok, but if it has a drive thru, and the menu is on wall behind the cashier, it's fast food, IMO.![]()

Trigger was Roy's horse. What an ignoble end for a loyal steed!I remember going to Roy Rogers off Charing Cross Road in London for a Trigger burger circa 1980.
Maybe Trigger makes the burgers.Trigger was Roy's horse. What an ignoble end for a loyal steed!

I didn't realize that Hardees was no longer just a Southern company. I thought that the Carl Jrs and Star burgers were the Hardees outside the South. Interesting. I learn a bunch on here.Someone I know was telling us the following story:
Them: “Damn it! The other day I was going through the Hardee‘s Drive through and I asked for a Whopper. They fu&k’n told me they don’t sell whoppers. Why, just why would any company stop selling its marquee burger?”
Me: “Eh, maybe because Burger King sells the whopper?
Them: Sh$t!
Chuck Norris ordered a Whopper at Hardees......and got it.Someone I know was telling us the following story:

I don't know why people even bother with ice cream when frozen custard exists.Compared to Culver’s all fast food is terrible.
I guess it’s Something Special from Wisconsin![]()
Hardee’s has been in Wisconsin since at least the 80s, if not longer. i know this because my first “real” job was in high school when I worked at a Hardee’s in NW Wisconsin. I used to love those fresco burgers but after my stint there I’ve never been back.I didn't realize that Hardees was no longer just a Southern company. I thought that the Carl Jrs and Star burgers were the Hardees outside the South. Interesting. I learn a bunch on here.

I just looked it up and copied this off of their website...Edit: are you thinking of Roy Rogers? I know those were in the south and connected with Hardee’s in some manner.
You’ve been living a lie your whole life!I just looked it up and copied this off of their website...
"Hardee's and Carl's Jr. are sister fast-food chains owned by CKE Restaurants. They share the same Happy Star logo, but Hardee's is primarily located in the Midwest and South, while Carl's Jr. is more prevalent on the West Coast and in the Southwest. Star Burgers is a separate, independent burger joint offering a unique menu. "
So, it wasn't just a South thing.
Stuff I thought I knew, but... ha ha.
Same here, because the Big Three lost the concept of “Fast Food.”. It was never meant to be great but it was supposed to be quick and cheap. It’s no longer cheap and quick…yeah maybe debatable. As such I’ll go to Culver’s once every few months buts that’s it. For my money I’m there’s plenty of local restaurants to dine in or take out that cost about the same as fast food these days and with much better quality of ingredients. I can get a burger from a few bars or restaurants near me that source their beef from a local butcher shop and I’m not paying much more than 12 to 15 bucks for the burger and side. If I want quick service I call ahead for take out.I don't eat much fast food any more, but on occasion the only places close to me I'll get a burger from are Culver's or Freddy's. I like In & Out too but don't have one very close.
As for the big 3, McD, BK and Jack in the Box, I haven't been to any of them in about 15 years, and don't plan to ever again.
