I will admit, the first thought through my mind after seeing the reveal was a couple curse words regarding all the delays as P and C just had a sale in Feb. on McClellands blends.
I don't see this blend on their site though, so I feel better now though.
Including this post there are now 2 hits for "McClelland's Balkan Beauty" on the internet.
Hello Internet!!!!!!!
Thanks again Click. Let folks know how/where/when to get this stuff.
I saw your post about the similarity of this to Blue Mountain which came as a surprise. I haven't smoked that but I do have wilderness here. I thought they were supposed to be similar...?
I've been following this thread primarily due to the fact, that I'm a big fan of blind taste tests.
I'm convinced that a lot of highly touted and sought after blends would probably NOT get the high marks that would be expected of it if some blind tests were done.
Anyway, congrats Klickklick on you finding your holy grail, and sharing the experience with the rest of us. This thread was marketing genius.
Yes thanks for doing this blind test. It gave me a chance to try a new tobacco without any prior research. Just need to know where to buy. I am going to PM you a suggestion on my thoughts.
Delighted that we had this opportunity to taste test a marketed product which can be bought relatively easily. AND, I personally got to compare moist vs dry tobacco which I would probably not have done. Thanks!
Um, so. . . is this a blend that is about to go into production? Or is it a limited edition, or strictly for illuminati initiates, what, pray tell, is going on with Balkan Beauty?
Balkan Beauty was a McClelland entry at the Chicago Show - #44. The Richmond Show had another McC entry new to me: it was called Highlander, but wasn't Grand Oriental Yenidje Highlander.

It was fun to play the game. It's not a blend that I would buy as I found it bland after the beginning of the bowl. But there's something for everyone, and this could become someone's idee fixe.
