No, look at the grain. It's the EXACT SAME PIPE. From you to LV, from LV to JimInksLand. Not quite in the twinkling of an eye, but close.
What Jesse said. Absolutely.

This from pipephil.eu, "These two entries prove that Plymouth was not only a Peterson product (second pipe) as it appears in Wilczak and Colwell's book...". The stamping in the image I previously posted in this string is from the same entry. And, the stamping is near identical to your "Plymouth". I think we have a winner.
No, there isn't.To muck this up even more (I thought I had it solved)... here is an older thread exploring the same question:
Marked Plymouth #47 estate pipe :: Pipe Talk
Just won a eBay auction for a Plymouth #47 anyone have any info or insight on Plymouth pipes? I do know it’s english made!!pipesmagazine.com
Jim. is there a number stamped anywhere on the pipe (bottom of shank, right side of shank)?
That's the one I have.Me again LOL. I had this haunting feeling that I saw this stamping before... alas, I restored and sold one a few months ago. See the photo below. Stamping still light, but a "v" can be seen after the "i". I am certain the stamping is "Plymouth Massive". Sans number on pipe, I am back to thinking it is an odd Peterson sub-brand.

And he gave it to me.I sold it to a guy in LV (not named "Jim")... hahaha. So we can surmise they made a run of these? Mine was 7.25" long and truly "massive". I described it as a Peterson sub-brand. If this thread convinces me otherwise, I will contact the buyer and work something out.

I wouldn't get too comfy with anything you read in Pipephil, unless it comes with an image and documentation. Their dates and surmises are often flat-out wrong.
Understood... and a good point. However, as Jesse points out "Who Made That Pipe" corroborates Plymouth as a Peterson second.
The 'Plymouth' example in the following link is enough to convince me that Plymouth is not Peterson-related - the p-lip on this pipe is clearly a knock-off, and the ferrule is like nothing a Peterson-related pipe would ever have.
I have no skin in this game - just trying to help out:
Peterson knock-off - Plymouth
I'm sure, given how much of a presence you are on ebay, you'll see what I'm saying soon enough, now that you'll be more aware of Plymouths when they appear in auctions.
Glad you are in this thread. No worries at all.
You're a good guy, but I dont see why it should matter to the buyer.
