Much like everything else, ymmv. My Kiribi started leaking fuel. It was a nice lighter and I could've gotten it fixed, but I never sent it in. Never had any trouble out of my IM Old Boy, so far, after a few years.

That Im not sure, all of mine are Line 2’s. I use ARS lighters in NC.
They are probably the best with service, conversions and repairs.
I would honestly give them a call as they are very personable.
They can send you the part with instructions or you can send them the lighter. They are quick, honest and fair priced.
Zippo pipe insert is the most reliably.

I went through a number of inexpensive lighters before finally springing for an Old Boy and then, a Pipe Master.
Both are quite good at what they do. I have the Old Boy set with a bigger flame and use it for initial light. For the touch up lights, I use the Pipe Master set to a much smaller flame. Either works by itself, of course.
It works well for me, but I do little outdoor smoking. When outdoors, I opt for the Scripto with the short extension. Although a "throwaway", it has a piezo ignition and is refillable, giving longer than average life.
Sometimes, the Old Boy gets finicky. I've discovered that gently tightening the flint screw every so often to keep the tension optimal goes a long way towards dispelling this. Also, if your thumb begins to get sore, make sure you are rolling the thumb wheel, which is just below the flint friction wheel. It's easy to have your thumb too high.
I once bought a Kiribi Scribe lighter, which is kind of shaped like a pen and good for shirt pockets, but has a smaller fuel reservoir. It requires occasional "tightening up" of things and I managed to lose a spring once, so it has been in the pipe gear "boneyard" for a few years now. Some day, I'll try to send it off for a refurb, I guess.

Yes, BUT… the right angle nozzles can be hard to light. The spark doesn’t always catch. I’ve had that problem with both the 1 and the 2.
Expensive lighter = waster of money. I learned the hard way by owning them all (almost all). Dupont, Savinelli, Corona, there's even a gold, custom engraved, Dunhill around here somewhere. No matter what it is it "will" fail in time. And either it will cost you a fortune to get it fixed or you can't get it fixed at all. Spend the money on a fine pipe and use inexpensive lighters. You'll be better off in the long run. 
You can refill Dupont lighters from a can with an adapter. I haven’t refilled mine in years from a cartridge. The Rollagas is a favorite of mine but unfortunately they ran out of angled pipe nozzles a while back. I love my angle flame Dunhill, Dupont and Davidoff pipe lighters.

But if you can afford a butane Rollagas pipe lighter you’ll probably smoke a pipe in the comfort of your home as gawd intended.
From experience. Clean out the gunk (probably from using the soft Zippo flints) from the striker and you’ll be fine. Using cheap gas shows up immediately but using Zippo flints work fine until they don’t.
I M Corona is my recommendation in that price range. Way cheaper, but quite good are the "FauxPonts".
