It's an interesting challenge. I don't know what sort of access you have to materials, but perhaps if you really want them displayed you could repurpose an aquarium fitted with a well-sealed lid, or you might fashion a display case from lucite or something similar, and put some desiccant in there and store them in it. Like an anti-humidor for pipes.

My back yard is a forest and am constantly at war with the resident insect population.
Maybe try a few bird feeders and some thick bushes just inside the forest ? Lyric Supreme (top of line seed) will attract songbirds and especially titmice, wrens, orioles, catbirds, Robins, cardinals, ---- all bug eaters. When they have young in the Spring there's very few bugs in my yard because they eat them all !! In fact this year they were flying to my neighbors yard as they ran out in this yard ! Seriously. I don't use feeders though as the squirrels can destroy them in a few hours. I just throw seed on the ground just past the edge of lawn in woods and they all go there. At night the deer, raccoons, skunks and possum eat whatever is left. Just a thought of fighting nature with nature. ?

@nathaniel you live "off-grid" but do you have any [electrical] appliances whatsoever? In particular any that generate heat via radiative loss such as refrigerators? It might be a good idea to hang your pipes (for example) on your refrigerator radiator or keep them on top of your PC if it's always on and running. Keeping the pipes warm will protect from cloud condensation and drive off humidity.
He posted that he has some solar and some hydro but not even enough to run a dehumidifier. It sounds cool and like hell at the same time.

I know, but I thought he at least needs a refrigerator! And if he's on the internet he must have a computer of some sort. All I know is that I lived in a few South American countries and finding pipes and tobacco was complete hell.

Maybe the O.P. can get a pipe made from a different material ? Would those Morta or Bog-wood pipes ? One of the types of bog-wood is swamp cypress which some say is impervious to rot....they used to use it for making coffins (old growth cypress). They might be more impervious to mold growth. Or get aFalcon and keep the bowls locked up ... maybe in the fridge ? Ask the locals what they use/do ?!!!

I used to use pure virgin olive oil to keep my briar pipes hydrated, but since I’ve joined this forum I’ve switched to grapeseed oil.

Try grapeseed oil.

Vegetable oils will eventually turn rancid. Not a problem when pipes are used frequently enough, as it gets rubbed off and/or replaced.

Mineral oil is the better choice.
