Family members and friends have done Facebook. The social media sites seem manipulative to

me. They keep soliciting "friends" for its members, as if the members are beseeching you to

"friend" them. It exposes too much information about its members -- perhaps as does anything

done online -- and it can be intrusive and habitual. Well, Forums is habitual, but it's my own

damned fault. Anyway, I wish Kasmir well. He's a good pipe man with a wealth of information and

many beautiful Dunhills, Comoys, and other pipes he has personally restored. He's a good soul.

If that's the kind of thing your friends post on Facebook, then I wouldn't want to participate with them either.
Thankfully, my friends don't get into that kind of detail. And I find Facebook a convenient way to stay in touch with family and friends all over the world. No, it's not perfect. And if you don't want any personal information made available to the very people you agree to communicate with, then it's definitely not the place for you. But if you do want to keep the lines of friendly communication open -- without making much effort -- then it's a great service. I've gained a lot by participating over the last five years.

I always report my dumps on Facebook. I only occasionally include a photo though.

NBD People come and they go. The boards are a revolving door. I've seen membership turn over several times. I had to turn off many of the pipe related Facebook pages. I got sick of countless random posts I guess I like the threads that I can pick and choose from better. 8O

Facebook Sucked until i joined the Gentleman's Pipe Smoking Group. Now its Mediocre. But +1 on the numerous pipe makers and people you can meet on there as mentioned above it does have its advantages. The way i see it is no matter where you are as long as there are Pipe smokers there, your in a good place.

First off, HAHA what we collect defines us i guess lol. I haven't seen you on here in a while hope all is Well.
Second trust me they already know everything about you. My mentality is if they want it badly there are people out there that can get it no matter how protected you think you are. Of course you can live off the map and be discounted but you need to start off that way cause once you have connected even once your in the system.
I tried Deleting my FB account once but they don't delete it they only deactivate it. but if you log back it everything is still there. So we are Screwed pretty much.
