Where do you smoke your pipe?

I smoke in my backyard. The honeybees and chickens don't seem to mind, although I have gotten looks from the neighbors. I figure that is just because they are trying to figure out if I'm smoking dope so they can call the police. I live in Utah and if you think California is restrictive come visit our state. On top of that I live in a small town and when a smoke shop opened it was driven out of town by petitioning mothers in a matter of weeks. I was fortunate enough to be in Boise, ID yesterday and stopped by an actual tobacconist to purchase some blends. I am scared of purchasing from any of the online retailers because there are horror stories of the Utah State Tax Commission sending a nice tax bill after you have been purchasing for a few years.

I smoke in and out of doors all day. I have a pipe clenched or in my hand constantly unless we're seated at the diner table... it's grown to be part of me over the last 43 years since my first pipe. I've been literally shot at so the glares shot at me aren't bothersome at all. On the most part I'm welcome with my pipe in most places my wife and I go, but there are "those" places.... I have the benefit of being retired in South West Arkansas and don't go many places anymore but sometime we do go. I was asked to put my pipe away at the San Antonio Zoo a couple years ago. I told them it wasn't lit, I just had it in my mouth, then was more formally told that they didn't even want to see it! So, OK, I finished my visit with my grandson's there then headed to the parking lot where I lit-up as soon as I could. We as pipe smokes shouldn't take being pushed around or shamed, but then again, we need to abide by the local rules and respect others wishes... As aggravating as it is, we are doing something that's on the borderline of the public's endurance.... We have to tread lightly....

Mostly I smoke in my screened in sunroom or garage. I love listening to a ballgame on the radio and enjoying a smoke after I get the kiddo to bed. It's my reward for making it through another day.

I think it is a scream when a legislature and many citizens are so pro marijuana ( a substance far dirtier to the lungs than tobacco ) and such snobs about baccy! Talk about hypocrites! :O(

I smoke EVERYWHERE I am allowed to and some places I am not. I love talking to people about pipes as well as cigars so it's a great conversation starter. We need to be seen so the anti smoking NAZIs know that they have a well informed and well spoken opponent !!

It's away from the prevailing elements in season and technically out from the house, I sometimes too enjoy a bowl when I'm on my way back from work at night just to relax and clear my mind.

I typically smoke when and wherever I please. Inside, outside, it doesn't matter to me. If someone gets offended, I will try to accommodate them, but I will not go beyond any reasonable means to please them.

Hotel rooms, hotel bars or outside at hotels if it's practical, when travelling. I'm not allowed to smoke at home and I don't really take a lunch break when at the office, so only get to do it when away for work.
Depending on where I am, smoking rooms are usually still available in the Middle East and Africa, though not always with windows that open.
My favourite hotel in Beirut has windows that open, often a balcony to enjoy, or a nice downstairs open air bar/restaurant that's full of cigarette and cigar smokers looking oddly at the English guy smoking a pipe.
My usual hotel in Nigeria has a lovely outdoor bar and restaurant that always has a gentle breeze blowing and a band playing on Sunday evenings. I really enjoy spending an hour or two there.

I smoke everywhere it's legal to. Other people offend me in a myriad of other ways, so I don't really feel any concern.

Ok, and my mouth would be situated on my driveway in front of the garage in good weather; just inside the garage if it's raining.

I smoke exclusively outside. I don't like the lingering smell inside or on my clothes or furniture. I split time pretty evenly between sitting on my porch and walking through the park with my dog. When someone is passing by, I take the pipe out of my mouth so they don't think I'm going to blow a cloud of smoke in their face, which would be rude. My basic rule is that if anyone is within 20 feet of me, I don't smoke. Beyond that and my giving a shit decreases pretty quickly.
