cyndi, my thoughts and prayers, and as you can read, those of this community are with you.
are both these conditions auto-immune related??/ do they often occur together or is it rare that someone would suffer from both??
i hope your insurance allows you a choice of physicians! though presumably the body of knowledge concerning your ailments is available to all doctors, my own experience is that the "right" physician is a key component of the treatment plan. my brother-in-law's progress in fighting lung cancer markedly improved when oncologists were changed. likewise, my mild (so far, thank God) kidney disease and not-so-good diabetes have responded dramatically better when new physicians/specialists were consulted.
not to preach, cyndi, but please do your research and get the best you can to help you. good doctors, your strength of character, family support and rapid improvements in treatment drugs and strategies will help you get through this and back to a more normal pain free and happy life!
may those elements and faith in a Greater Being speed your recovery!
