Some people can’t walk and chew gum at the same time. I can’t smoke and drink.
Besides, I smoke outside (mainly daylight hours) and drink after dinner. But a single malt scotch is always nice.
I don't drink anymore and am still new to pipes, so I haven't committed to any pairings. But I usually have some water. I am a tea drinker and think I will drink that soon as I am told that teas high in tannins pair well with aromatics.
Coffee, tea and water for me. I have yet to find the perfect combo of my choice of liquor - bourbon - and pipe tobacco that complements one another. I find that my bourbon can take away enjoyment of my pipe, and my pipe take away from the bourbon.
Before 4:00-ish PM, Community coffee. Evening time, it used to be Knob Creek or Elijah Craig Small Batch, or an old fashioned, but I gave up drinking I guess. Now it’s usually just sweet tea or water.
