I have a few mugs with back stories and personal meaning, but 90% of the time I use my metal travel cup as I hate cold or luke warm coffee and tea (iced excluded). It’s a little strange to sit in my family room with a traveler cup, but darn if it isn’t piping hot.

I like starbucks for what it is. I only occasionally give them my money due to price. But I have to admit, for how fast they have exploded and how many locations they have, they are impressively okay. If they arent #1 for brick and mortar locations, then they are only behind McDonalds & subway. Those 2 have some serious sanitation and staffing issues, and questionable quality.

Starbucks is also quick to push innovative items onto their menu. Think shaken espresso and sweet cold foams. Sure it might not have originated in their shop, but nobody heard of the items until starbucks put them on the map

i digress

We seem to be accumulating an enlarging population of "Aroma Joe's" here in Androscoggin County. I have yet to give them a try.

Last time I visited a Dunkin Donuts after they shortened their name, it seems they've also shortened their product lineup. The donut case appeared to hold an assortment from the local grocery store. The clerk didn't know what a "coffee regular" was, and put 3 sugars and 3 creamers in the cup. That's one chain I won't be revisiting again this millennium.

I have two favorites and a brand new one. My current and longtime favorite is a thick ceramic trucker's mug with a big thick handle that insulates the beverage nicely, emblazoned with the 75th anniversary of a local cafeteria. I give my wife the twin that celebrates the 85th anniversary. Alas, that K&W Cafeteria went out of business because of the Covid pandemic, and we may never see its like again.

My second favorite was my old one from work, without the wonderful thick ceramics, that said "Support U.S. Savings Bonds" and had a waving American flag on the front, and then when you turned it over when washing it, it said "Made In China." I'm sorry, but I found it hilarious.

The new one has thin little walls and is black in color and says "Foreign Affairs" on the front in gray-blue lettering. Elegant looking, but not so good at insulation theeglazen. "Foreign Affairs" is the publication dealing with foreign policy, my way of trying to see past the pie fight that passes for international news.
With Waitrose and Booths scrapping disposable plastic cups I'm looking for something suitable to use at the self service machines in both Waitrose and Booths. I'm aware Waitrose do reusable cups for £3, which is cheaper than Booths and the Waitrose one would be a suitable size for the machine in Booths. I've heard Greggs do £2 reusable cups but does anyone know if Greggs do them in a size which would be suitable for the machines in Waitrose? The reusable cups I've seen pictured on social media seem to be large size rather than regular size.
