What's Your Favorite After-Shave or Cologne?

I loved the original (read Schulton) Old Spice. The current version is a pitiful far cry from it, and smells more like a Grandma purfume.

Unless You get it from India, through eBay, the difference is significant

I also keep one or two bottles from other brands/designers handy.

Since I have gone into old school DE shaving as a hobby:

I have re-discovered Nivea Sensitive as an excellent after shave.

I also plan to build a tiny cellar of old school after shaves: to be honest though I find them a little loud and only use them when I am home

There was a very long thread a few years back on another forum debating whether Old Spice had changed and who was manufacturing the most “correct” rendition of it. There was even chromatographic analysis done on samples. Insane.

Old Spice after shave. I use Pears soap and oddly, it's been a relatively successful attractant on its own. I haven't had an actual "cologne" since my early 20's.


P.S. So happy not to see any AXE products.

I used Pear's soap as a shave soap when I first switched to using a DE razor. it actually works very well for that.

I don't need them stink water or what French calls toilet water. My face doesn't understand unmanly stuff that gets spread on for god knows what reason. Bacon grease is all I need to keep this face handsome.

Pure, natural sandalwood essential oil after a shave. Nothing beats it. Great for the skin and the smell is incredible. The real stuff is kind of pricey but it only takes 3 or 4 drops. Synthetic sandalwood doesn't compare.

Williams Lectric Shave. It's marketed as a pre-electric shave lotion. But I use it after shaving with a razor. You have to rinse it off after you apply it, but it makes my skin feel good. I guess the smell is ok.
