Love the hunt but you have to have a capture once in awhile to keep it interesting. Love the glow that comes in acquiring a must have piece at a price I can afford.
That was my m.o. prior to forums and the internet. I had a job that allowed it. It was exciting, in a small way, to visit every b&m east of the Mississippi. Most are gone now, and the pipes hunt me, it seems.
My pipe collection is eclectic. I’m not looking to complete any sets. I’m very opportunistic in buying pipes, old and new. I enjoy watching and checking eBay several times a day. So I definitely enjoy hunting. And when I get a really nice pipe of any sort it’s a great feeling. I get a lot of satisfaction from the restoration process. Searching for the next pipe is the most fun though.
