Seriously, if you had to actually drive to a dozen or so B&Ms and search the shelves, that would be exciting.
That was my m.o. prior to forums and the internet. I had a job that allowed it. It was exciting, in a small way, to visit every b&m east of the Mississippi. Most are gone now, and the pipes hunt me, it seems.

I enjoy the hunt, the acquisition and if hunting ebay the thrill of the winning bid along with the anticipation of arrival even though its maddening.

My pipe collection is eclectic. I’m not looking to complete any sets. I’m very opportunistic in buying pipes, old and new. I enjoy watching and checking eBay several times a day. So I definitely enjoy hunting. And when I get a really nice pipe of any sort it’s a great feeling. I get a lot of satisfaction from the restoration process. Searching for the next pipe is the most fun though.

You are doing a splendid job of hunting down and capturing very unique pipes. You have been posting some classy pipes on the WAYS thread lately. I like your style.
