Right now I am going through my OTC kick. It's Carter Hall and Prince Albert. I also have a blend I made with 50/50 Prince Albert and Black Cav (I call it Fat Albert....not my name, got the idea from someone on a forum...can't remember who). I also do 50/50 Lane 1Q and Black Cav too. But mostly it's just straight Carter Hall and straight Prince Albert. In a cob is heaven. In briar, still great!

Currently smoking a lot of lane medal of valor and Dunhill three year Virginia. Other things make an appearance but I’m enjoying these the most often

I'm only an occasional smoke these days, so I just smoke what I feel like smoking, mostly pipe tobaccos that I've not had before. (I want to try as many as I can before the Great Blender Up Above makes me put down my pipes and turn in my Zippo.)
But when I was a daily pipe user, I smoked mainly flakes (Dunhill Light Flake, Orlik Golden Sliced, most of the McClelland broken flakes, the three Peter Stokkebye Luxury flakes, Reiner Long Golden Flake, etc.) with an English or aromatic blend thrown in occasionally for a change. I never had a formal rotation and tended to smoke the same two or three tobaccos for a week or so and then, when one became a bit boring, switch to another.
My philosophy has always been, "Smoke what you like, not what others say you should like."

I generally start the day with two or three bowls of Virginia Flake. SG FVF or BBF, F&T CVP or vintage, Macbaren Pure Virginia or Aylesbury Classic Flake. Then it is generally SG BF or C&D Sunday Harbor Flake. After that would be mostly Burley Blends. Been hitting Gatlin Burlier Newfound blend pretty heavy lately. Several HU Burley blends. I've been sneaking in a bowl of SF FVP later in the day here lately. I most often end the day with a bowl of HU Manyara.

Always like to have a few flakes and a few non-flakes on deck, jarred up.

Right now my flakes are HU Haymaker and Sunset, Astleys 44, McClelland 27, Solani Silver, and Pease Regents flake.

Non flakes are Esoterica Tilbury and Scarborough, Pease Cairo, RO Acadian Gold, and 5100.

When I first started smoking in an effort to try as many different blends as possible I probably had 20 different blends on the go. It was frustrating as I'd spend ages choosing which blend to smoke and never got to fully pick up on the subtle nuances in a single blends as I might go weeks between bowls of the same blend but on the plus side I quickly realised what I like and what I didn't. I now limit myself to 3 open containers, an English blend, a Virginia or VaPer and something new.
Currently I've got SG Squadron leader, Rattray's Marlin Flake and JF Germain's Brown Flake in the rotation.

When I think of a rotation, I think of four or five blends that come around every few days. I'm so spoiled with samples, gifts, aging tins of discontinued blends, etc., I can hardly talk rotation. A few of my regulars right now are C&D Riverboat Gambler, Peterson 3 P's, and SG Sugar Brown Flake, but the list goes on and on. Mighty nice, and spoiled, spoiled, spoiled.

I don't have a huge supply of many various blends. I just find a few blends that I like in a given style, and stick to those blends, until / unless I find something better in that style. I'm mainly smoking:
- Carter Hall (codger burley, all day smoke)

- Dunhill Flake (Virginia flake)

- Dunhill Nightcap (Latakia-heavy English)

- Peter Stokkebye Balkan Supreme (inexpensive but good bulk English)

- G.L. Pease Westminster (excellent well-balanced English)
I have some more blends on the way to sample as I continue building my cellar.

In my first year of smoking pipes so far, I have opened everything I could get my hands on. I have too many open tins and jars ATM, and I am slowly smoking my way through them. I want to narrow it down to having 3-4 open tins at a time of stuff that can work as a daily smoke.
I like this ^^^^^^
I'm in my second month of smoking pipes. I've added a ton of blends to my stash, some cellared in jars and some in "smokable storage"(nothing in the "cellar" that I haven't tried and liked, tho, so the same is probably in smokable storage). Anything I've tried and didn't like as well is aging for another go.
I probably have a total of 25 blends that I'm experimenting with (and cellaring if I like) now. I'm hoping to bring that down to what I REALLY love, and everything else, so that my mood dictates, but I still have stand-by go tos.....

Here is a list of blends that I smoke often, will always smoke, still chase, and have > 5 lb each. These are the A team. Many others, but these are the ones deeply cellared and still relatively available.
-Capstan Blue

-Solani Silver

-Full Virginia Flake

-F&T Cut Virginia Plug

-Astley 109 (basically the same blend as Cut Virginia Plug)
-Peter Heinrich Curly Block

-Solani 633

-Escudo

-Esoterica Dunbar

-Davidoff Flake Medallions and PS Luxury Bullseye Flake (similar IMHO, both deeply stocked)
-Ashton Artisan Blend

-G.L. Pease Quiet Nights

-Old Iron Sides

-Gaslight

-Rattray Red Rapparee
-Old Dark Fired
-G.L. Pease Hados Delight and Key Largo (>5 lb combined total)
NOTE: I also have many pounds of Dunhill Nightcap/EMP stashed away along with lots of Esoterica and McClelland 40th, but those are all kinda not available now, glad I stocked up. They are in my rotation because I have them.
