cigrmaster, you ain't kidding. The taxes can only go up, anything bought now is cheaper than it will be in the future.

While I've expanded greatly what I own (from 2 oz. to 10 lbs. since June), I don't have blends I "cellar" yet- still figuring out what I like!
I have 1 pound of MacB ODF, 1 pound H&H Anni Kake, almost a pound of H&H Marble Kake....after that any blend I have is less than 10oz. What I have is a decent amount of variety.
The good news is I smoke maybe 2-3 bowls/week, so if I stopped now I have a decent supply...

Harris, I 100% agree with you on your reasoning behind cellaring. I am still on the journey of exploring and sampling blends to figure out my likes and dislikes. I was just curious to know what members focused on after the cellar goals where complete.

Currently 23 open containers I'm working through. Favorites right now Dorchester, Escudo, GL Pease Sextant.
My cellar has 89 containers with over 13 1/2 lbs. Lots of Escudo, Esoterica, Nightcap, 965, various Va's and VaPer's. Oldest is some 1997 Christmas Cheer.
Oh and I just started building my cellar in June... 8O

mike73, when I came back to my pipes in April of 2012 after a few year lay off, I spent 5 months sampling things to try and figure out what I wanted for my cellar. For me it was not that hard because I knew that I liked only VA, Vaper and Vabur flakes, so I could concentrate on just sampling those. I did dabble in aromatics for a couple of months but decided they were not for me, and then in September of 2012, I made the commitment to try and get my cellar completed before Jan 1 2014. During my sampling stage, I found a lot of the favorites I have now and even as recently as 2 months ago I found 2 others( Capstan Blue Flake and Klodnike Gold) to add to my cellar. Now if someone comes up with a new flake and I end up loving it, I will grab a bunch, so in reality, the cellaring never really ends.
