I smoke 3-5 bowls a day, 5-6 days a week. For me that's a little more than one 2oz/50g tin a week.

My cellar is starting to look pretty good considering I only started stashing away my chosen blends about 3 years ago. However after reading bigvan's post I'd better start adding a few tins of Celebrated Sovereign, Blue Mountain, Wilderness, British Woods, and Arcadia to my cellar so that when current prices double I'll have something to trade him for his well aged McC 5100

OK Everyone I am going to "NecroBump" this thread and hope I don't get scolded. LOL

But seriously not sure if this should be a new thread or if I should be bumping this old one so if I messed up could one of the mods please move it if needed.
Went through my cellar tonight after reading a few cellaring posts and found that I am up to a whopping 197 oz of pure enjoyment cellared up in just about a year of piping.
You can check out my cellar here>> 05's Cellar

My cellar isn't anything crazy. I jar up about a third of every blend I have gotten (except OTCs) so I have one jar of each for future reference:
Kentucky Pride (Prince Philip's-Local B&M)

1Q

Hobbit's Weed (Tewksbury-Local B&M)

Strawberry Fields (Tewksbury)

Frog Morton

Coffee Pot Pass (Prince Philip's)

Ruins of Isengard (Just for Him)

R18 (Prince Philip's)
I also have open bags/pouches/tins of:
Carter Hall

Ruins of Isengard

R18

Hobbit's Weed

Strawberry Fields

Dunhill Nightcap

Erin Go Bragh Irish Whiskey
Then there is the factory sealed:
Peterson Irish Flake

McLelland's Christmas Cheer 2013

Captain Black Dark
I had to tame my TAD, so now I am on a tobacco buying hiatus (or so I tell myself till I happen to find myself driving by the B&M). Time to enjoy what I have open while it is still good.

Mine is here - I am pretty well stocked for Tobaccogeddon
http://tobaccocellar.com/peckinpahhombre
I use the dates I bought the stuff (rather than any dates on the tin) to measure age, just because it was easier that away. The only exception to this is some of my Christmas Cheer, which is the only aged tobacco I have ever bought (I used the tin codes on this). I am pretty excited that most of my cellar is coming up on a year's worth of age (again, from the time I bought the tobacco)

I have only recently joined in this malarkey; I won't 'necro-bump' but my recent post title on the subject is under my moniker. The stimulus to collect and cellar was not based on 'tobacco envy' of the likes of Peck's an Harris's cellars but on the analogy with my wine collecting.
My aim with wine was never to buy another bottle of 'fine wine' after I retire in 5 years' time - I have about 4,000 bottles cellared in perfect conditions under the Wiltshire hills. Since I smoke about six bowls a day on weekdays, and often nine on weekend days, I have some way to go in stocking my tobacco cellar - if I'm spared!

So just out of curiosity, what do you folks plan on doing after set goals are met? For me and being new to the hobby the enjoyment I get is the collecting. Whether it be tobacco or pipes. So I see myself even 20+ years down the road still adding to the "cellar" and "rotation". I am not sure I could stop it with setting goals for myself lol.

Good Lord, Peck! I knew your cellar was big, but wow! I once read that a 3 bowl a day smoke goes through about 6lbs. a year, that means you have nearly 100yrs. worth! I think you can safely stop now, lol!
Feel free to put me in your will!

I've got maybe 55 open tins that have been packed in jars so I don't know the exact quantities of those.
This is the stuff I have in larger known quantities. Nowhere near enough as to what I need but can't spend too much on my cellar. I'm sure I'm missing something.

2 lb's of Penzance

1 lb of Stonehaven

1 lb of Anni Kake

2 lb's of Black House

1 lb of Magnum Opus

1 lb of 1Q

1/2 lb of BCA

1/2 lb of Vanilla Cream Flake

10oz of FM Cellar

2 lb of various Peterson annuals

I am hesitant to to put too much online because, unlike other smokers around the world, in Alberta we have a law that prohibits anyone who does not have a tobacco retail licence from possessing more than 1000 grams at one time. That is about 2-1/4lbs.

I don't smoke all that much, maybe a bowl a day, two on the weekends, and I have just under a 40 year supply. I do not plan on growing my cellar anymore, but also do not plan on depleeting it!

@northernneil, that's a bullshit law! It's not like it's marijuana or something! I mean really, who comes up with this stuff? I know our country is trying it's best to head that direction itself, but man, I do feel for you guys in Canada! I mean what's next, are they going to say that you can only have 1 roll of toilet paper in your possession at any given time!? Come on man!

Petes03, it is a very silly law. I am pretty sure it exists strictly for black market cigarettes, but unfortunately they do not distinguish beetween the different types of tobacco. I'm positive they are not out hunting down tobacco cellars, but no need to dangle temptation in their face, if you know what I mean!

By way of diverting flak from my new-found tobacco collecting hobby I allowed 'Her Indoors' to scroll down Peck's list. She simply said "Bonkers!". I think that's a term of endearment; she has certainly called me worse.
So, sincere thanks to Peck - she now considers me to be only mildly deranged!

I also have a rather large wine collection (though not 4000 bottles - I am over 1000 but not sure exactly how many). So yes, we are both nuts.

I have reached my goal of 250 pounds and am only looking to add another 30 or so tins of one specific blend.
mike73, I understand what you mean about setting goals and then having nothing left to shoot for. The reason I did what I did is because prices will never be cheaper than now, plus I believe that a number of my favorite blends could go the way of the dodo if certain regulations come to pass. Also if a new blend comes around that I like, I would add it to the cellar and rotation.
Now that my cellar is pretty much set, I can concentrate on my pipe collection which is always a fun thing. I recently sold off a bunch of pipes that no longer worked for me so I do have plenty of open spaces in my rack.

Don't worry northernneil, the US NSA has taken note of your post and will forward it to the appropriate Canadian agency for follow up.
