Comedy is a personal thing, but it is determined by various cultural factors like language, religion, age etc.
I like a good laugh, but most comedy doesn't work for me. Some of it is good, though. Monty Python, Stephen Fry and his collaborators on QI, Billy Connelly.
What do you guys find funny?
I need inspiration.

I enjoy comedy that involves good buddies teasing each other, such as In the movies Horrible Bosses and Grown Ups and Rush Hour movies. In my younger years I liked alot of over the top stuff like Jim Carrey and younger Adam Sandler.

Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, Seinfeld just did a new show, Carlin is classic of course, Robin Williams is genius of course, Roseanne Barr was funny before she met Tom Arnold (the Yoko Ono of comedy), Tom Papa...

Mitch Hedberg, Stephen Wright, Bill Hicks if you want some old stuff that is still hilarious. I highly recommend Mitch Helberg and it's all on youtube

Lot of great ladies breaking new ground. Sarah Millican is a personal favorite, Sara Pascoe, Katherine Ryan

I'm sure I'll think of more.

I love satirical and offensive humor, such as the stand up comedy of Ricky Gervais, Bert Kreischer and the early Jim Jeffries. I love the absolut preposterous absurdity of some of the things they say and the twisted reasoning it implies.

I also find it quite entertaining when some people fail to se the irony and satire, instead taking it literally and becoming massively offended.

Eddy Murphy, Robin Williams, George Carlin and Richard Pryor are legends when it comes to offensive stand up, love them.

I used to do drugs. I still do, but I used to, too.

I'm against picketing, but I don't know how to show it.

I was at this casino minding my own business, and this guy came up to me and said, "You're gonna have to move, you're blocking a fire exit." As though if there was a fire, I wasn't gonna run.

I recently took up ice sculpting. Last night I made an ice cube.

I used to be a hot-tar roofer. Yeah, I remember that... day.

Is a hippopotamus a hippopotamus, or just a really cool Opotamus?

This shirt is dry clean only. Which means... it's dirty.

I don't have a girlfriend. But I do know a woman who'd be mad at me for saying that.

Fettucini alfredo is macaroni and cheese for adults.

One time a guy handed me a picture. He said, 'Here's a picture of me when I was younger.' Every picture is of you when you were younger.

You can't please all the people all the time, and last night all those people were at my show.

Good list there! I’d add Jim Jeffries and I don’t care what people think of him, I still love Louis CK... there is a whole list though, I could go on and on, I just don’t have the time.

Oh and let’s not forget The Tiger King, the best accidental comedy ever’

My wife does stand up occasionally, and I love working with her to develop her routines. Every joke has a "butt" that receives the condemnation of the laughs. Easy jokes, make fun of someone else. Better jokes make fun of ideas, but the ones we try to write always have to center on the speaker as the "butt" of the jokes. Steve Martin was a genius at being able to make fun of the whole world by turning the jokes on himself.

Some British comedy that might not be known in the States that was hilarious was Rising Damp, Steptoe And Son, The Young Ones among many more.

Then of course we have the classics like Fawlty Towers and the irrepressible Two Ronnies. Here is a famous Two Ronnies clip called "Fork Handles"....enjoy!

Lately I've been watching an American guy called Seth Meyers on YouTube with a series called "A Closer Look", that guy is hilarious.

Regards,

Jay.?
