After 40 years of using the salt shaker as if it were a cement mixer, I decided a week ago to stop using salt in my meals. It was the first beef steak without salt, and thanks to the wonderful COVID, I have hardly any taste on my palate, and my sense of smell is like the anus of a stuffed bat bathed in crude oil. So I'll have to ask the AI what I can have for lunch today. Maybe it will recommend that I suck on a used can of truck oil. Well, today I'm having roast chicken for lunch, with potatoes and tomatoes, zucchini, roasted eggplant, and some good German turbid beer.

I decided, to hell with it, I’m going to have quiche for dinner- salmon will continue marinating until tomorrow! The quiche is wife-approved, so I have earned my keep for one more night - provided I can concoct a bedtime tale to hold her attention before our sleep, lest she order me executed.

Long ago used to often eat ramen. Besides dosing it in hot sauce, would drop an egg into it while it heated up, whipping it around a bit so that I might have a version of a cross between egg drop soup and ramen. Haven't wanted to eat any, though, for some years now.
My 5 year old wanted ramen for dinner. I picked her up the standard package that's spicy (Maruchan chili) and a few to sample on my own.

Added Carolina reaper jack to the Wok brand for creaminess and had the standard Tapito as is. The Wok was all heat and no flavor while the Tapito was all flavor and little spice.

I don't usually want ramen, but will doctor it up and eat it. But I seem to enjoy it more now then when young and dumber (I'm still dumb) in college.

What's for dinner? Funny you should ask. Right now we have a big pot of shrimp gumbo simmering of the stove. I will be good tonight, but GREAT in about 3 days. puffy
Update: I know you all find this riveting, so... we made the gumbo again and this time when I looked at the 3 lb. bag of shrimp we got from Sam's, I noticed it said "product of India". Surprising, as you can catch all the good shrimp you want just a few miles from here. I figure now, with the new high tariff on Indian products, we can figure the cost of our gumbo is going to go way up. Thanks to those responsible! nnnn

Now you've given me a hankering for my favorite Asian dish found in the freezer section of a local grocery store, Bibigo's Korean style crunchy chicken. The sweet and heat of it's sauce is unbeatable. Pairs well with the same brand's fried rice with kimchee when you can find that in stock.
