I have to admit that I'm a little underwhelmed. They look like a slightly fancier version of their Donegal pipes. The cobble rustication will probably appeal to those who don't like the choppy/typical rustication of Peterson pipes--and the silver band is a nice upgrade from the nickel bands of the Donegal line--but I think they should have done something unique with the stems maybe. Maybe a cumberland style acrylic or something along those lines.

What do you guys think?

I like the look. The current rustication doesn't do it for me but this one does. If it had an acrylic stem, I'd have been all over it
Yeah, for sure. I'm already avoiding vulcanite/ebonite stems, but can usually excuse a great pipe with them. An acrylic stem, especially with a unique look/color, would have made a big difference with these. Just looking at a basic 120 (Dublin), the Cobble is $158.00, while the Donegal Rocky version is $112.00. $46 dollar difference for a slightly different rustication and a silver band.

I do prefer the rustication over what is / has been offered currently; but I don't feel the need.
I passed.
Introducing it as a new line.... seems as if it's "diluting" the brand. I'm not in marketing though.
I'd like it if they had just used this "memorable year" as the time to switch their rustication to this "new style".

I always thought I was in the majority of Peterson fans that don't like the move to acrylic, especially with the Deluxe Systems, but I guess I was wrong.

I agree that the $46 difference between the two doesn't provide enough value. But I guess with the fact that a Donegal Rocky is now $112, the value conversation might already be behind us.

An XL02 is on the way! I like them based on what there is to see and of course the proof will be in the handling and visual once it gets here, but worth taking a chance on. The question is will it get here before one or both of my POTYs make it from Europe, lol. AN Post has been unusually slow with these pipes. So in the next few days I'll have a three-Pete, haha.

I like the look of it over the rusticated, and in some models, it looks pretty sweet, but is it something that I have to have right now? No, I am not going to run out and order one right away. Maybe if I find one down the road?
Spot on to my own reaction right here. Looks cool, we’ll see about it later perhaps.

I'm in the kind of like it, but it's not something that screams by me now in my direction. So I'll pass for now and get that Kaywoodie Birkshire instead.

It looks like some of the grain is showing up along with the rustication, not sure if this is accurate but if so, pretty cool. Ebonite is generally a deal breaker for me though. I’ve got one P-Lip and after four years of smoking it, it’s a no. Maybe I’ll grow to like it.

I think they look nice, and am glad they're trying new things.

I like my 2 Petersons, but one has quickly oxidizing vulcanite while the other is the nice hard shiny stuff

Brief perusing of the Cobble line looks like they are avoiding rustication and blasting of the area that ends up under the band? This would be a big plus for me

I think they look fantastic. However, I wish they had the standard/fishtail stems. Would rather just get an Arklow or Irish Harp for a better price point.
