Ginger Baker RIP, would have been less combative if he had smoked a pipe while drumming, practice makes perfect...I can make a noise piping with Bodhran, Tambo, Djembe & Cajon. ????
I've had the honor of seeing her live twice, once with the Carolina Chocolate Drops and once her solo, lucky for me she did both gaelic chant and Snowdens jig both times. I'm getting goose bumps just thinking about those performances. If anyone ever gets the chance to see her or the Carolina chocolate drops...DO IT!!!!! Also I play Bass and guitar.

Recently started to try to learn the keyboard. Barely plinking so far. Unfortunately, I can't smoke at home, otherwise maybe I could get my pipe to teach my piano cadence and vice versa? ?

As long as the Nording whistles 'Dixie' then it is fine by me ?. The Groovebox makes a cool sound to pipe to, I'll never make a Liberace of the Keyboard myself, & don't bother much with chords as B.B. King would have said. If you cannot pipe in cadence while playing, why not clench it unlit, it will give you something to chew over while grooving ..???

I could do that, I guess. When I was struggling to learn the pipe, I got myself a mini cob, never to smoke it, but to keep it on my desk in order to practice my sippûffing, using air instead of smoke:

I have and play guitars, keyboards, mandolins, ukelele, djambe drums, egg shakers, and one time I got to play a harp, and I killed it! (No seriously I had a blast playing a full sized harp in a music store one time, it was great!)

It would be fun sir, but never played with others that is another skill...just do my own thing with free improvs..but my dog likes to howl along with me...????????
Me too. I am only ‘playin’ when the family is out. With the pipe, I am out when the family is in.

I was watching the Albert Hall Cream reunion in '05 at lunch yesterday. Ginger was a madman on drums. On just about anything else too, as much as he & Jack hated each other. I remember an article about Bruce when he was dying & calling people for the last time. He called Baker & said "Ginger, I'm dying. #### you." & hung up. I don't think GB really liked ANYbody, himself included....
