Last night's entertainment was a DVD of the late great Stevie Ray Vaughan's live gig in Austin, Texas.

Only an hour in duration but what an enjoyable hour it was. His version of Little Wing (tagged on as an extra) was beyond words.

Did you see that long-form documentary that PBS did of him a few years ago? It might been in four parts, can't quite remember. It was really good. I've been to the SRV gravesite in Oak Cliff a couple times. There are always some guitar picks and things left there. Always makes me kind of sad how it all ended for him, and at the top of his game.

saw "Beatles vs Stones" at a nearby WV casino last night. A fun show. They did three quick eras. We bought have price tickets the day before, a 90 minute show. The Stones cover band was a little better than the Beatles. Then, they did two songs together in a blended jam (Day Tripper and Satisfaction). Only the hits of course were played, but a fun evening, cheap.

No I never caught that but I shall keep my eyes open for it to come around again. PBS America often show repeats over here.

Tonight I'll be enjoying his 2 concerts at the Montreaux Festival.

Jay.

EDIT: Take a peek at this.....looks/sounds interesting.

The tv show "Dark Winds" just wrapped the Season 2 finale (its a great show). The music is excellent.
They used this one by Derek & The Dominos. It hasn't yet been credited (season finale was last night). But, I new that I recognized that guitar tone. I didn't remember it being on Layla and sure enough, it wasn't, it was only on the 40th anniversary edition. Now, I need that album...
