92° - Siouxie and the Banshees

"Did you know that more murders are commited at 92 degrees Fahrenheit than any other temperature? I read an article once. Lower temperatures, people are easygoing. Over 92, it's too hot to move. But just 92 - people get irritable!"

The Lower Forty of Hill Country
To me, the late Oscar Emmanuel Peterson was the greatest jazz pianist of the 20th century. Technique, virtuosity, creativity, and the ability to simply swing were all his in abundance. Here is one of my very favorite tunes, recorded live at the Blue Note Jazz Club in Greenwich Village in New York City in 1990. Backing Mr. Peterson are Ray Brown on bass, Herb Ellis on guitar, and Bobby Durham on drums.

As familiar as I am with the Peterson discography, this is the only version of this hypnotic, entrancing, bluesy, waltz-like song that I can find, but I'm not complaining; I'm just happy he chose to record its magic.

Enjoy!
