It's a hard thing to face the music

But it's something everybody has got to do

Thinking about Freddie Mercury, today.

Here's "Bohemian Rhapsody" live at Rock Montreal, 1981.

Listened to Yngwie Malmsteen a bit but was turned off, as I have been similarly to other shredders, including Buckethead, who seems to get the most press, as the basic elements of music, rhythm, phrasing, variations in tempo but above all melody, are all sacrificed to speed and many notes over a selected few.

Malmsteen is on tour with Steve Vai, Zak Wylde, Nuno Bettencourt and others on the Generation Axe Tour. Unfortunately, they are not coming to my area.

Listening to some solo Pete Townshend. Here is an amazing live performance, at Royal Albert Hall, of "Drowned"

All I can add is this version of "Idiot Wind" from BD......... I've always been bittersweet on this song.......... reminds me of my ex. But every version I hear is different, and the song and meaning and perspective is never the same....... Old Bob is a master at that................. An American Icon if there ever was one........... :puffy:

I was watching what is among the greatest of live rock performances, Queen at Live AID, and saw that some folk had produced one of the funniest tributes to Freddie Mercury's "A-Oh" vocalization at that concert.

Here's the parody. Note the complete confidence and sense of accomplishment on the face of the performer, at the end.

He is a master at that for sure. I enjoyed that version Beef. I was listening to a lot of Dylan last month...certain songs of his I haven't found on youtube in the past. I think they get purged off of there.
