I've been over these highways for years in the dark
Crisscrossing the land like a stitch on the wound
Rolling through the night while millions were sleeping
Under every phase of the moon
Under every phase of the moon

And the wind blows down hard in the night
With the ghosts of the brave and the damned
Howling their song, locked in their fight
Over every inch of this land
Over every inch of this land

And they say what is lost will be what is won
What is done will be done and undone again
They say don't think for a second that you won't become
One more voice on the wind
One more voice on the wind

Patty rocks out big time on this one.

I hate to tell you baby
This is home
The wallpaper is a
Color called seafoam

And a great solo acoustic version, which I wouldn't have thought would work with this song, but it does.

Kansas The Absence of Presence- really good album, particularly since most original members were not on it
At some point I need to get around to listening to this as well as Prelude Implicit, the other studio album by the latest incarnation of the band.

But I'm a big fan of the original lineup...all of Livgren's compositions and most of Walsh's...so I just haven't had the motivation to hear these. Any songs not written by them just aren't Kansas to me.

I did see the latest lineup live though, a couple of years ago, and they were really, really good. They played Point of Know Return in its entirety, as well as many other songs...long show, and they sounded fantastic.

Prelude is good too. I've seen the newer lineup live a few times as well, excellent shows.

Smoke is in the air
From your little cigarette
You tell me to throw the fight
Go and place your little bet
