Listening to Carnegie Hall's opening night concert, live, on WFMT.com (my local classical station). Right now it's a performance of Leonard Bernstein's Symphonic Dances From West Side Story.

Sir Ringo is 78 today!

Here's a tune from his latest album Give More Love, "We're On The Road Again" written by Ringo and Steve Lukather, and featuring Steve on guitar, Ringo on drums, and Sir Paul on Bass (and background vocals)

Golden Earring - Moontan. I don’t want to argue whether they are the coolest band that ever existed (but there has NEVER been a cooler band)!

I've been listening to the Pines of Rome, by Respighi, in a 1959 performance by Fritz Reiner and the CSO, from a "Living Stereo" LP, with the speakers cranked to 11.

I remember, as a kid, seeing Dr. Reiner conduct this during a Saturday morning CSO version of a "Young People's Concert" at Orchestra Hall, and being completely blown away.

Here's the final movement, "The Pines of the Appian Way." Crank up your speakers.
