In keeping with the two dominant forum themes of late...fighting and drinking (and just one day late)...crank it up:

Gentlemen, it's about the music, and the incredible eclectic mix of tastes on this thread.

I remember watching this on TV, when it was first broadcast (I taped it on my Betamax!).

To me, it's one of the finest versions of this piece. Domingo and Milnes, with Jimmy Levine providing a powerful and electric orchestral accompaniment

does this mean I'm still good to go with Puddles the Clown?

I think Wyfbane got me on the Postmodern Jukebox kick and Puddles reared his head soon after. Though clowns make me uncomfortable, he has a great voice. I had better luck after watching this video.

Puddles is a huge talent. :) (get it? 7 feet tall...)

Thanks for the videos, Mayfair. The "Royals" was actually the first I'd heard of him and PMJ.
Btw, he actually does a pretty good cover of Roy's "Crying".

Does anyone like Ambrosia ?
'twas brillig and the slithy toves did gyre and gimble in the wabe; all mimsy were the borogoves, and the mome raths outgrabe.
"beware the jabberwock, my son! the jaws that bite, the claws that catch ? beware the jubjub bird, and shun the frumlous bandersnatch!"
He took his vorpal sword in hand: long time the manxome foe he sought? So rested he by the tumtum tree, and stood awhile in thought.
And as in uffish thought he stood, the jabberwock, with eyes of flame, came whiffling through the tulgey wood, and burbled as it came!
One, two! One, two! And through and through the vorpal blade went snicker-snack! He left it dead, and with it's head he went galumphing back.
"and hast thou slain the jabberwock? come to my arms, my beamish boy! o frabjous day! callooh! callay!" he chortled in his joy.
'twas brillig and the slithy toves did gyre and gimble in the wabe; all mimsy were the borogoves and the mome raths outgrabe
