The strongest burley and an absolute favorite for me is Cornell and Diehl's Big N' Burley. It's not necessarily the strongest in nicotine, but its definitely up there with Old Joe Krantz and Irish Flake. Full rich burley flavor with a touch of lat and turkish to beef up the body and add a creaminess and richness to an already very rich burley base. I can't recommend it enough.

This one is fairly burly, but I don't think it's straight.

Not burly at all. He's holding a bag of Esoterica!

I was going to add Semois, Stirling Flake, HH Bold Kentucky or Kendall Kentucky. But others have already recommended them. Easily obtained is GLP Jack Knife Plug...super tasty.

Allrighty then...

Many thanks for the recommendations, Boardcrew. I'll be ordering & test driving a number of them shortly. :) :) :)

PS --- The intended-for-blending stuff Mr. Greeneyes mentioned is indeed what got me started on straight Burley. Try it if you get the chance.

PPS --- That Mr. Woodsroad is one scary dude... All normal 'n' shit on the outside, all Dr. Evil twisty on the inside.

5 brothers for most muscular for sure.

That said I do miss the availability of PS312 Toasted Burley, though, while not as strong it was and remains one of my favorite straight burleys ever made. Thankfully I have a bit of stash squirreled away.

5 Brothers is mild-medium at best with little flavor IMHO. C&D Kelly's Coin and Old Joe Krantz are strong for sure. Not sure exactly what tyoe of leaf is in Kendall Kentucky these days, but years ago it was supposed to be straight Kentucky burley and quite strong.

Five Brothers must hit you different than most people. I smoked a medium size bowl of it last night and had to put it down for a while and come back to it to finish it. I wish it was mild-medium for me so that I could smoke more than one bowl a day. One a day, usually in the evening is my limit if I am smoking it straight.
