Title edited to perfection. Original: What is the Most Muscular Straight (or very nearly straight) Burley Sold Today?

Something that is currently in production and currently available.

Old versions/recipes, tin age changes, and all that are fun to discuss, but not useful in this case.

I just want a recommendation to buy, load, and smoke.

(I discovered I like quality strong burley via some German-brand blending leaf, but it isn't available in the US without running the international buying and shipping gauntlet.)

I agree with Five Bros for a straight burley.

Since you also said nearly straight, and looking for something strong, I would have agreed with Irish Flake as well...but it's been a while since I smoked it...and I haven't had the more recent incarnation, which @JimInks describes as follows on Tobacco Reviews:

Update: 12-30-2022 The blend has been changed. The dark fired Kentucky takes the lead by a fair amount now. Their particular aspects much the same as they were in my original review with the exception of the higher smoky barbecue and spice content. The burleys are not much more than a condiment with similarities matching what was used in the past. The Virginias are further in the background, just below the condiment line. The strength level is now strong, not very strong. The taste is reduced to the full threshold. Has a little more roughness. I faintly detect anise, and am doubtful of its presence. The cigar notes are barely present. The creaminess and fruit are hardly obvious. All other characteristics are the same. Three stars for the current production, and my ratings reflect that now.

Stirling Flake is supposed to be similar to what Irish Flake used to be like. I bought five tins a year or so ago and liked it, but it definitely wasn't as strong or robust as I remember the old Irish Flake being. I happily smoked through the tin I opened, but I haven't opened a second one yet, and have returned to my remaining stock of 2015 Irish Flake.

Might be worth a try though, and is currently available, though as usual your mileage may vary.

Semois is great if you can get it.

The C&D Burley flakes often get mentioned, but I haven't tried any of them.

Certainly 5 Brothers seems to be a fairly straight burley with strength. I think most if not all will have some sort of flavor add. I'd also suggest Big n Burley and Haunted Bookshop, as well as HH Burley Flake and Amphora Burley.
I think these all have good strength AND good flavor.

George is looking for something similar to Torben Dansk - Burley Maduro, which is a straight dark Burley made by Dan/DTM. It has a punch and a dry cocoa note on the nose. I know they sell it in bulk bags but they were sold out of those a few months ago. I wonder if they've restocked.

Only problem with that is he wanted something readily available.

Dang, you're right, sold out everywhere. I never had a problem getting it in the past. At least one vendor had it when I wanted it. I signed up for back in stock email notification at all of the vendors that carry it.

This one is fairly burly, but I don't think it's straight.

For me the most muscular truly straight burley is Kentucky burley. You have to buy it whole leaf, so far as I know. I bought mine from Whole leaf tobacco. it's muscular both in terms of flavor and nicotine strength. It has an almost Oriental/Turkish like complexity (though of course it's quite different). I love the stuff. If you want to amp up the nicotine even more, you can blend it with Burley red tips, which are just the top leaves of the burley plant, so it would still be straight burley.

True, you have to prepare the leaves in some way. I just de-stem, roll the leaves up tight, slice them then with a sharp knife, cut the coins across, making a rough cut. Not much work really.
