I have picked second hand a West German marked tin of Charatan's Aromatic, a tin of Bengal Slices and an '80s tallboy tin of Three Nuns (one with the woodgrain design).
The oldest I have that I bought new, is a tin of Black Mallory, McClelland 24 and McConnell Oriental. All were part of a big order from '99.

I have a tin of Parson's Pleasure from 1991, still unopened. My oldest Jarred tobacco is Old Dublin from 1995.

I've got a few tins of the 1983 crop of McCranie's Red Ribbon and Red Flake that were tinned in the mid 1990s.
I've also got two jars from the 1940s that I pulled from compromised packaging: Edgeworth Sliced and Dill's Best. Both are more interesting in theory than practice.

What a glorious gathering!

:!:

Beautiful!
I hope Lestrout posts on this thread as I would be willing to bet, he has tons of stuff that is probably 50 plus years old.
+1

:!:
I have a special thing for Thomson & Porteous after having a peak smoking experience with some old stuff of theirs,

so I keep an eye out...
...fairly recently opened and jarred this 1954 Thistle Flake:

and yet remaining unopened is this 1955 Drifter Navy:

This Digger Honeydew is probably from the late 30's and will remain unopened to solely exist as an artifact, it's a shag - a very dry and crunchy solidified block, it's neat though...

50's or 60's era St. Bruno, now jarred

Recent gift from Jason (klause) - trueblue Ogden's Gold Block with fully intact seal and still moist after all the years, it even kept its distinct nose and the casing survived very well with big flavor pop!

Now jarred

Murray's Jackpot Irish Roll - another artifact and not for smoking...

Earlier on when I first started looking for old baccy I got lucky and scored a couple of the Sobranie blends, at the time I had no stomach for Lat and thought I wouldn't like it anyway, ended up selling it...

Tin of 1938 Shag, Tin of 1920 Gold Block, I had a 1938 Capstan that went to a new home and was promptly smoked! A couple of mid 1930's plugs, probably Condor I think as well as a 1970 big tin of Erinmore by Murray's which I gave to a dear friend of mine. I think that just about covers everything!

I just found an unopened 50g tin of Murray's Erinmore Mixture in an antique store, judging by the graphics I'm guessing '70s? .....two questions; 1. Worth the $12 I paid? 2. Worth smoking? Thanks in advance from a "newb" ;-)

Oldest ruined blend: 1937 Edgeworth Sliced. Dried out decades ago and rehydrating hasn't brought back much life.
Oldest smokable stuff: a few tins of G Smith & Sons Old London 100% Virginia, which is godly, and half a jar left of some Gallaher's Rich Dark Honeydew, which is amazing. Both from the late 1980s or very early 1990s. Also a few tins of McCranie's 1983 Red Flake and Ribbon, which were tinned in 1994 or so. All of these blends are among my favorites.
