View from a hill behind where I live and where I usually take my dog out for a walk, he likes to climb rocks

I'm jealous of some of your views, no rivers or lakes here! Everything is now very dry and yellow after our rainless mediterranean summer.

Went to a charity event for senior citizens tonight. Our company was a platinum sponsor but I still managed to spend about $500 on silent auctions.

The emcee treated us to an excellent rendition of "I Did It My Way":

These are Big Leaf Maple leaves, with a Zippo and 50g tin for comparison. These are just the biggest on my deck this morning, I'm sure others are larger.

You can see the trees themselves in my prior post #486 of 7/24/21

On hikes, I can tell tourists not from here because they'll be collecting the leaves as souvenirs. And even the young trees only 6 feet high still have large leaves, like a kid with big feet!

Bumping this thread - my view last night at about 9pm from my front patio, was nice and cool for a change and was finishing off a bowl of Petersons University Flake which lasted nearly 2 hours ?
If you follow an imaginary line over this horizon you would eventually come over Adelaide in South Australia (approx)
Then after that nothing but ocean until you hit the southern tip of Argentina.
Skies like this make me want to get my pilots license!
