In the realm of what Harris would like, I bet he has never been able to hoard the hardest to find light VA flake. Two of the last ten words in the previous sentence share the initials of the brand.

I haven't seen Wessex Brigade Campaign Dark Flake available recently, though I know people get it sometimes. I would love to try it.
Difficult to obtain... yes, but not impossible. Just get on different sites and ask (if applicable)to be notified when it comes in. I managed to grab 18 tins this past April from 4noggins and some from Iwan Ries. And yes... in my opinion (for what that is worth) its a great tobacco.

For me it would be Germain's Brown Flake and Butera's Kingfisher.
He could be referring to the John Aylesbury Luxury Flake - though it was available recently...and didn't sell out as quickly as I would have expected

Harris, you talking currently in production? For me that would be the Germain flakes. I've only scored a few. I have plenty of Luxury Flake, BCDF, and Astley's 44. Those all come around.
I would also love to get my hands on some Stonehenge Flake, and St Bruno as I've never tried either.
Currently Luxury Flake is one of my favs. I shared with the folks at the KC show and everyone seemed to really like it.

It is John Aylesbury Luxury Flake I would imagine. Cigarmaster posted about it awhile back. Something about holding out on us, now I expect he has come to hold the carrot out before our noses once again.

I'm going with Dan Tobacco: The Malthouse. "Pressure fermented for 12 weeks!"

The Malthouse isn't a flake, it's a ribbon cut. Jeanie's in Salt Lake had it in bulk last time I was over there.

If Harris wasn't allergic to red VA's I would have guessed '92 Christmas Cheer. Not many tins of that stuff floating around these days.

Ding...Ding...Ding... we have a winner.
John Aylesbury Luxury Flake for me has been the toughest to stock up on. I recently was able to finish stocking this one but it took over 2 years of serious searching, I finally got to my number of 135 tins of it. When I first began looking for Stonehaven in December of 2012, within 8 months I had 14 pounds. Wessex Brigade Campaign was also a tough one but SP, PC and 4noggins got shipments in on a fairly regular basis( 3-4 times a year) and I was able to grab 220 tins of it. If it were not for the fact that I had a favor done for me, I would still be looking for the JA LF. I recently got 50 tins of it which completed my cellar.
What amazes me is that every retailer who carries this blend would only get maybe 25 tins at a time. It sells out within 10 minutes of it being listed and you would think the mfg would actually notice they have a major hit on their hands.
Astleys no 44 Dark Flake has always been a tough find but no where near the JALF. I will never understand the mentality of the European mfgs who refuse to ramp up production on a hit blend. Notice how the US mfgs like McClelland and GL Pease rarely run out of stock and when they do, they ramp up production to meet the demand out there. Think about how many pounds of Stonehaven and Penzance would be sold if the supply was available, JF Germain which I have been told only employs 6 people are leaving so much money on the table.
So if anyone can actually find some JA LF, I highly recommend grabbing as much as you can. It is a great tasting flake that burns perfectly right out of the tin with no drying time needed. It has a caramel type sweetness that is similar to Brigham Klondike Gold but better.

Now all one has to do is to live long enough to smoke anywhere near that much tobacco.
Ain't that the truth. Seeing that I only smoke about 2 to 4 bowls a day I think I'll survive with the few pounds or so I have quite nicely.

Wait...

.. this, is done by one person.. and is hard to find? Or is it more like.. I got more than you got?
So just out of curiosity, how did you come up with that number to be satisfied with?

Let's say you smoke 3 bowls per day on average. Call it an average of 3 grams per bowl or 9 grams per day. That equates to 3284 grams per year or about 7.25 lbs per year.
How many lbs do you have put away?

Good question, and interesting way of looking at it - never had quite laid it out like that before. Grams per year adds up so quick!
